They usually give minimal articulation to accessory characters, if the TMNT is any indication. Maybe the T-Rex from Kong is the main figure, maybe an accessory pack with planes and the top of the building, etc.

There is a poll on the Godzilla app (which I think is locked to Japan only) for the next figure. It seems like Super MechaG is winning so far when I saw someone show the results a few days ago.

Gigan is a pretty great figure, but that head sculpt is not accurate, nor is it stylized in a good way, and the head is always going to be one of the most important parts of a figure. Fixing the teeth would've made it A-Tier, cus he's one of the rare figs that don't have things popping off every second.

Because for every enemy kaiju there are two Godzilla's made, most people are only comfortable with a handful of Godzillas so they often skip designs they don't want.

I think they're allegedly based off a comic book but they're not particularly faithful, and I think the story its based on doesn't ever even leave Skull Island and has no Anne Darrow. So its basically a loophole for them to make an original design.

That wouldn't make sense cuz you G2K put in S-tier!
I'd put the KG repaint in S-tier because it fixes everything that was wrong with the previous figure, including the most significant issue regarding the wings

Just got my 1954 reissue version in and I there's definitely more of a noticeable difference other than the eyes.

The lights and darks definitely have way more of a contrast on the new release. It makes him pop way more. So I'm glad I got the new one, not only does he have more accurate eyes but a better paint job. Also his joints are more stiff, but my original didn't really have anything too loose on him.

I love the SHMA 1954 Godzilla so much I might even just keep the original one I got just to mess with for fun, while I'll have the other one on display, since he's fun to mess with and is shockingly poseable. I already thought the 1954 was the best release, and now I have an even better version of it.

Fire Rodan ain't that bad, and all the accessories were pretty great. Purple beam is used for all my bad guys, and fire blast is the best beam SHMA has made.

They did. His just didn't get the best paint job. I have the OG and reissue and both have painted dorsals. I'd have to say that his is a rarity in that his OG has hardly any white paint blending and mostly black.

Every once in a while the guy explains why the figures take so long. Essentially he has to make the prototype, make sure that the articulation works, make sure that producing it won’t cost an arm and a leg, submit it for approval by Toho (Legendary for their kaiju), submit it to the factories, get the appropriate paints and then make sure the figures the factory produces are quality. And if there’s any snag in any one of those steps, he has to start over, combined with the fact it’s just one guy doing all this, it’s a miracle he gets any figures out at all

For the MUTOs, unfortunately there is still only the mini figures (High Grade series, Bandai America 2" figures and SD figures), and the Bandai Movie Monster foe the flying one. I think there may have been one as a bonus for an X-Plus too. Someone was working on making copies of a custom articulated one, but thats about it as far as I'm aware. I

There is NO Godzilla figure with a beam that looks good. Stand or no stand, they all look like shit because ultimately it's a hunk of plastic trying to replicate something that's not a solid shape and is barely tangible. It always looks like Godzilla is eating some abstract shit.

They all look like shit. Effect parts can look cool but all Godzilla beams suck. NECA, SHMA, all of them.
Companies should include little buildings, or vehicles for Kaiju figures to interact with instead of wasting resources on shitty looking beam effects. I want a train for Godzilla to bite into, not a shitty hunk of plastic can barely even be made to look like it's actually making impact with anything.

So everyone can shut the fuck up about it. You're all terrible.

The original release didn't have painted claws either, but at least it's easier to fix than GMK's spines or anything. I got one of the better GMKs but the airbrushing is more subtle than I'd like it to be.

Considering '54 has no accessories either, it's really stupid that they cheapened out on the nails.

I've collected pretty much all the NECA windows boxes so far (Missing '54) and while the beams do stay in the mouths, they will fall out at the slightest bump or shake.

Not only that, they bend downwars after a while. I have to turn the beams upside down every so often to avoid it.

Not much, just a different pattern/shade of green. The special color version isn't too much to root about, the plastic looks a bit more matte (probably a different material) and there's less detail in it (look at the eyes and teeth).

Bandai never re-releases figures that were originally sold as web shop exclusives. These figures are made to order based on pre-orders, instead of being produced in a certain quantity and then just sold, as retail releases are. In order to get around their policy or not re-releasing these web shop exclusives, Bandai usually simply paints the figure a different color or makes some other similar superficial change in order to justify it as a new, and different, release. Sometimes they may add or remove accessories or in some cases even tweak the engineering on a figure if there were complains with the original release.

Go for it. At worst you're out 2 figures, a few dollars and wasted time. It is a really cool idea, and seems like it'd be easy enough to make work. The only hard part I could see is replicating the fire pattern in Mothra's wings and making sculpted fire that looks good.

Hot glue should be pretty good for that, since it's transparent and used for custom beam effects
I think anon should get a dummy figure and practice his painting skills beforehand. I've seen beautiful customs get destroyed because the person doesn't know how to paint as well
