From Brian Flynn's interview from last night:>The pre-order for Wave 5 is in March!!! We could see the next wave anywhere between now and next month!>Brian says he has 9 waves planned so far. >Possibly some Turtles crossover figures such as Star Trek or another Turtle crossover. Brian says one is very close to happening since he has licenses for other properties and is trying to sign the deal. It's unknown what the crossover is, but Brian said it could be something that was supposed to happen in the vintage line, but never happened, such as the Star Wars turtles, since Brian has the Disney license. >He's going to make toys based on unproduced figures, but they wont be in Waves 5 or 6 and be things that haven't been made before, such as finishing out the Punk Frogs, or making Playmates style versions of characters who appeared in the cartoon, but never appeared in the toys. >Brian can make characters from the cartoons, but it seems that he and Randy at Neca have a gentleman's agreement. >He says he wants to make characters who appeared in comics that didn't get made in the vintage toys and make deep cut characters that would surprise you. he says he also has the rights to Archie Comics characters and may possibly have some rights to other characters, besides Usagi Yojimbo. >Metal Head will have some vac-metal on him and might have light piping also.

>Mouser army builder pack might happen, because people keep asking for them. But Brian isn't for sure on if this will happen or not, because he doesn't want to hurt exclusivity for fans who already bought Baxter and hasn't settled on if it should have any new features or differences so as to not hurt the resale value for the first release Mousers from Wave 1. >Brian discussed April and said a lot of her figure was redesigned to please coomers, because she was one of those characters who turned boys into men. >Says he can't show her yet until he can show people test shots of wave 3, but says it'll be shown hopefully soon. He says it's "radically different in a good way." >There's also another con exclusive like the glow-in-dark Baxter! This will more than likely be some kind of repaint of a previous figure and therefore something you could live without. Anonymous

Retroblasting is continuing his attack on Super7 and doing yet another livestream to launch the attack, because he's angry over Super7 wanting $450 for a Thundertank, which supports Hasbro's claim that it costs a lot of money to make vehicles.
https://twitter.com/RetroBlasting/status/1357776509914800128 Retroblasting the other night did an interview with Bobby Vala, who used to work on G.I. Joe regarding his Action Force line, but seemed to have ulterior motives where he kept trying to get Vala to attack Brian Flynn's statements to Pixel Dan regarding the price of the Thundertank.
The livestream with Bobby Vala-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JwH3GQPEkc Vala had basically said that the price S7 wants may be accurate and that despite Retroblasting and his friend LioConvoy's bitching regarding how long S7 takes to make toys, that made to order toys can take over 10 months to make, because he himself, Bobby Vala is also taking a long time to make his own made to order toys.

I thought this was news worthy and related to the thread-
ToyGuru is apparently doing a video defending Super7, which premieres tomorrow regarding the controversy over how much a made to order vehicle like a Thundertank will cost.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aLN0LhItJ8 I wonder how much the Party Wagon will ultimately be? In theory it's smaller than the Thundertank and will likely sell a whole lot more and could be one of the profitable items Super7 could make. Brian Flynn isn't selling his toys at retail(except maybe a few re-action figures) and they're always produced in much lower numbers. Sure you can rag on Re-Actions, because they're simple 5POA stuff that's made for a particular type of collector, but Ultimates do come with a fair amount of accessories for their price point-- they feel pretty high quality in hand and have almost too many accessories.

>>8756549 That's admirable. Imagine if everyone had that attitude. No one would get toys first, and there wouldn't be any toys at all. Reminds me of the argument that people shouldn't be selfish.
So a man isn't selfish and when he gets a bonus check from work, gives it to his wife. But his wife isn't selfish, so she gives it to her kids. And her kids were taught not to be selfish, so they give it to a classmate at school. And those classmates were taught not to be selfish so they give it on to someone else, and so forth.
This creates a perpetual wheel of no one accepting anything because no one is selfish. Or perhaps a single selfish person that's get everything from everyone since he's the only person willing to accept things "selfishly" from others.
Imagine it were like that with toys. Bryan Flynn asks what toys you want most and I say I want TMNT vehicles, but I am not selfish so let someone else get their favorite toy made first. And that person's favorite toy is Thundercats, but he's not selfish so he lets someone get to pick. And a perpetual cycle where no one gets anything made. Except I guess I would get what I want made, because I'm the selfish one who would tell Bryan exactly what I want made right now and unapologetically accept it.

And in order to replace a large item on a shelf, such as a bike or a children's slide, Hasbro has to be able to sort of guarantee that something like a Jabba's Sail Barge could sell more units than a slide or bike, and therefore deserves that space. >He says we're very lucky to be getting things like the Thundertank, or even the Haslab toys because they just don't work at retail. And that the cost is simply because Thundercats fans are so small and there's going to be so few made on top of the already high tooling cost. And that the smaller and more niche the property, the more expensive it will be to make items for it, particularly big items, because you're producing under M.O.Q., and therefore the company has to pass along that cost onto the consumer. He ends with saying that something like a Thundertank pre-order is a once in a lifetime item that will likely never happen again, and if you're a fan this is your one shot to get it and then quotes the famous Eminem song lyrics in reference to this.

It's designed to hold larger figures to accomodate a variety of different sized characters in the vintage line, such as Bebop and Rockstead, as well as Shredder and the Foot Soldier.
The included pic here is the Neca figures inside the Party Wagon. In order to make them see out of the vehicle you have to bend their heads down. If the vehicle were just a tiny bit bigger you could make them work.

Obviously Retroblasting's counter to this would be that Target during the Covid shutdown inherited the Galaxy's Edge Millennium Falcon, which I believe was supposed to be a Disney park exclusive, and never originally meant for regular retail, hence the "Galaxy's Edge" name.

There was a lot of MOTU fans that insisted that they'd quit the line if their $500 figures were worth $400 and that it was unfair to someone who just paid $500 for one to have it suddenly be $40 thru Super7.
So to get around that they did the Club Grayskull, Filmation version, which is a better figure anyway. So exclusivity babies could still claim they had a super valuable figure while giving everyone else the chance to buy the character again.

Finally got my wave 2 in the mail. Took a bit. Aside from Leo I didn't get any stuck joints so I will take that as a win. By the next wave I am going to have to split my display into 2 shelves a Turtles and allies and a Foot clan shelf. Thankfully the first 4 waves are the 45$ price tag, I am going to have to be more choosey with the future waves at 55$. Sculpts looks amazing, articulation is hit or miss especially with some looseness in the legs for the non giant characters. Accessories are great for the smaller characters and fine for the larger ones. I am pumped for Casey and a future Krang.

Toy prices have really gone to crazy places considering that most of the historical major price jumps were due to rising oil prices, and oil prices have been going down for a while What surprises me is this insistence so many companies have on a uniform price point. Why? different characters can and should cost more or less to make. Charge 55 for big dudes like bebop and 40 for wee little turtles and various other prices in between, why don't you. If a character is largely one color and requires little paint, it's bizarre that one would have the same price as one with elaborate markings all over. In a lot of the best, most beloved toylines, scale was tossed out the window because of that price point nonsense.

Any licensee needs to apply for and pay money to get a license to produce official product for a brand. Several parties can have a license at once, they all need to apply separately and get reviewed individually. An exclusive license is when a company carries the exclusive rights to produce something (toy figures, plushies, candy) based on a property. A master license means one company is in charge of all licensing for that brand and have "first dibs" on any product, but if they don't want to produce it they can subsidize it to other companies.

>>8760813 I think it's some kind of factory problem, because the cracking always happens on the same side of his legs. Maybe there was an issue with the paint at the factory not drying enough? Or some other issue, but it seems to be happening on a lot of them. If you got one, just don't touch his legs much, or you're risking this to happen.

Also while my big figures (mutagen man bebop) are fine and pose well shredder, leo and raph all had this weird issue where the left leg won't bend anyone know anything about that. I know I can heat it up and did that but its odd that all 3 had the same issue

also I agree, what we saw of the prototype was fine but the head could stand to have another pass, and it sounds like that is mostly what they're going to change. whereas neca made a fine head and a fine body, and just messed up the relative scale of the two (given fred wolf studio's standard of quality, I wouldn't be shocked if she looks accurate to some scenes)

That means 3 waves a year, instead of what we got last year, which was 4 waves (one every three months).
Do you think this is because they're fitting the re-do of wave 1 into the schedule, or is that just how they're going to work on the line now that everyone has the 4 turtles on order?
