King Kong 1933 NECA

Neca just announced that they’re making 1933’s King King toys.

How will this workout?, is the T-Rex going to be in it? All the other creatures? Are these just accesories for a big kong? Are they all a creature package? If so what size will they be and please show some reference to what the final product will look like.

These aren’t from the original 1933 King Kong, they were only featured in the sequel Son of Kong (1933)

Wouldn't mind it if NECA did some of the monsters from the 2005 Peter Jackson movie. I enjoyed the game as a kid and the monster designs were pretty great. Plus articulated bugs are always fun.

I don't see why they wouldn't make the T-Rex. Of they're doing all 1933 creatures, that's a major one to leave out. And I'm sure they'll get a few repaints out of it too.

Right? I'd like the crabs and the "scorpions" myself. And the millipedes but I have no idea how they'd make those poseable without costing way too much.

We've talked about it a little in the kaiju thread. It's neat. They unfortunately are not 1:1 to the source material, but I'm glad everyone wants to keep using that stupid two-legged lizard that nearly suses out Jack in the original movie.

Probably, but this is a different mess where the original King Kong novelization has been in the public domain for awhile. Neca can release a figure that's called King Kong, and make a sculpt that's as close to the movie as possible while being legally distinct.
