I really hope these guys can get back to a monthly release cycle. Looking at OP they have so many great figures coming it's going to be painful waiting 2 years for some of them.

They should just make larger quantities of each release and stop re-releasing like Bandai do. Then they can focus solely on the new stuff!!

Congrats! I got mine the other week.

It already comes with the tail, but yeah, the wonfes head would be nice.

That said, the won fes version is still selling for 24000 yen, which i can't justify when i got mine without for 6000.

Im not gonna throw any more money at it though and just wait for the 2nd. Hopefully there'll be a half tranformed blonde head and i can pose the green one as the dino.

Are the horses all smooth down there like barbies? I always wanted to know the genders of the SBR horses and thought it was weird that it was never stated but we got their names, temperaments, breeds, sometimes ages and quirks. Maybe if/when part 7 anime comes out they'll say.

So they're confirmed stallions and not geldings then, that's interesting. That answers my question thanks. I'm really happy to hear they're going above and beyond to make special variants like that for those sections of the fan base so inclined, but I'm not really interested in owning horse figures because I'm a bit scared of horses so I'll just enjoy seeing what other people do with them.

Yeah the cracked face is always going to be really expensive and I can't reccomend paying out what is being asked. I kind of hate the idea of the special parts in general since they make life hard for collectors for no real reason.
I traded a retail Johnny for the Wonfes head like a year ago in anticipation for this release since I really couldn't stand a Diego without the cracked face.

Recently got into Jojo heavily, I'm going in on SAS after years of loving their look and style.

Right now I'm only looking to collect Parts 2, 4, and 7. I saw in the last thread that 2 is getting rereleases soon to go with Lisa Lisa and it seems like 4 just got rereleased. I already ordered the two versions of Gyro.

Is there a strategy for waiting on these things? I don't mind playing the long game and picking up releases over time (in like four years when SBR starts getting animated it'll get new figures and rereleases I'm sure), but for someone like Rohan should I jump when I see a decent preowned price?

SBR is the most recent to get re-releases. Diego, Funny, and D4C just released in December. Johnny 2nd and Gyro 2nd just released last month, and I do see you have that Gyro and what I'm assuming is the PO for 1.5. I think Funny and D4C are still pretty widely available, D4C was pretty expensive when it was only a WF release and I think he'll probably go up when he's sold out. Generally I recommend going for SBR as soon as you can. There is a bit of strategy, but desu the anime popularity has already done the damage it's gonna do to the aftermarket. Part 4 prices are pretty stable so unless you really want anime colorways like Kira 2nd and KQ 2nd nothing is going to be too expensive.

Got Giorno black from the canceled preorders the other week because of FOMO and I don't regret it. This is the first SAS I've bought and I'm very happy with it. There's one defect in the black paint on the left upper arm but that's all I could see. It's visible in this picture, might have to try to fix it. Thanks to the anon who recommended biginjapan. Shipping times are great. Of course I did unknowingly pay for the pricier and faster shipping option so I'll have to keep that in mind for next time but damn, to order something then get it in about a week is nice. The faster gratification is worth the extra $10 or so.

I already have Mista purple preordered and I was going to stop there, but the problem is now I want a Gold Experience too, and maybe Gold Experience Requiem? I guess this is how the disease starts, but hopefully those will satisfy me.

that said, a good portion of my collection is post anime, since I only collected parts 3/4/2 for the longest time.

Caught up on 5/6/7/8 much more recently, but luckily wf ger, wf jolyne & sbr were the only ones I had to pay over 10k for.

Then you see will zeppeli making 10k a figure the new normal, lol

Yep, that's how I would set it up, and yes, I did. I painted over Giorno 1st's and the Giomane from WF GER. Wanted the golden eyes with the green hair, plus the eyes on Giomane are just better. Not pictured, I painted the yelling head is well, but gave that one a darker was than the base hair and it looked like shit, which is why I went with the much lighter green, almost white, seen in the pics.

Not him but, I think it looks cool. Part of the reason why I enjoyed seeing the pink Giorno with the white hair head in the last thread was because it reminded me so much of some of the alt color illustrations Araki did for him, and this hair color does too.

Yeah I was real fuckin mad when Giorno Black had blonde hair. Not one other character with multiple colorways has the same hair color in any of then, and Giorno goes 3 for 4 on blonde. Fuckin stupid. I know it's supposed to be based off the end of the anime, but fuck it, I need my variety. I'd really like to get WF Giorno one day for the white hair, but he's a low priority, trying to not go for too many duplicate sculpts.

On the subject of Jotaro & SP, that's another one i'm having a hard time working out the paring.

The similar colors clash, so I don't think green and green, blue and blue and purple and purple go together, but i might be wrong.

Jotaro 1.5 looks great with any of the three. Personally if I ever get my hands on a 3rd or 4th Jotaro, I also plan on painting his t-shirt to match the appropriate Star Platinum. There is artwork out there with a green Jotaro with blue shirt, and a pink Jotaro with a green shirt.

I don’t know if I’ll get part 3 Jotaro, since I don’t really like to double-dip on characters, and there isn’t a big difference between part 3 and 4 Jotaro aside from the outfit, whereas there’s a big change between Joseph/Old Joseph and Dio/DIO, in my opinion. Getting Giorno and Jotaro worries me, though, because then my autism will force me to get all the other JoJos, and Jolyne’s aftermarket prices kinda suck, and I missed out on the most recent run of Johnny, I think.

I think Part 1,2,5,6, and 7. Correct me if I wrong. Part 1 is unique since Medicos made everyone there especially big. Part 3 shows its age with the sculpts and articulation setup versus what we get later on. If you're big on scale, then it's going to be even more spread out.

I guess whenever I pick him up I'll play around with the angles for the "screaming" head so it doesn't look so off. It's a pretty solid release but I could also wait for the shirtless variant later down the line. That's the height of the avdol sas and they're official heights were both stated as 188cm in the series.

Makes sense that Hol horse will be shorter than Jotaro & Joseph.

I think it's really difficult to nail manga faces. Especially for long series' where there has been so many iterations over time. They have to either pick a specific look or end up trying to fuse of styles.

the storm was a good point in time ken, shame about the scale and that it likely won't be made now.

Have you seen the detail on the SAS over the revoltech. Just compare the chest sculpt, the veins on the forearms, the detail on the jacket (side pockets) the bandage on the left arm.

Received Ken today and holy fuck he's terrible.

The heads are ugly, the shoulders are awful, the biceps area is stupidly thin, the poseability is shit is some areas (who the hell designed that neck?) and some joints are already looser than they should.

First SAS I own since the Kinnikuman subline and probably my last (well, after the rest of the HNK ones I preordered like an idiot).

Seems SAS kenshiro is a love/hate figure, although I imagine the people who dislike it don't own the jojo SAS and are used to figuarts or figma so don't appreciate the nuanced style of medicos.

SAS are very unique and go for an articulated statue aesthetic that's not to every toy collectors tastes.

Personally I like it, but have to pose them with guyver and berserk, rather than dragon ball and kinnikuman because the style difference is jarring.

My Kenshiro showed up today. Overall I quite like it, not sure why people are being so hard on the head sculpts. The articulation is mostly solid and well-implemented, as I’d expect from SAS, but what the FUCK were they thinking with those shoulder joints? They look ugly from almost every angle, and actually feel like they have LESS range of motion than the old-fashioned butterfly+universal on a figure like Battle Tendency Joseph. I hope that setup is ditched fast, it’s absolute garbage and is almost enough to negate the overall goodness of the rest of the figure.

Owning all three, I’m going to say the SAS wins, but just barely. If they hadn’t gone full retard with the shoulder joint design, it would have been no contest. The only thing holding the old Kaiyodo Final Ultimate Boxset figure back is those weird cut hips and the fact that the revojoints in the ankles and a couple of other places are first-generation with very wide gaps in the ratchets - that makes the ankles especially awkward to work with. Other than that it has probably still the best sculpt and paint of any articulated Kenshiro figure produced to date.

That Joseph still has one of my favourite joint setups on any figure. The only recent releases that come close for me are Storm’s King of Fighters figures. I have no idea why they didn’t just do this or steal some homework from the Mafex shoulder joints for Kenshiro.

In fact, the more I mess with Kenshiro the less inclined I am to pick up Raoh. I really, really fucking hate those shoulder joints. I’ll probably cuck out and buy Jagi as he’s my favourite villain from the series and the only other option is the ancient and tiny Revoltech that’s in the movie colours, but still. I really hope they can be persuaded to drop this design on future releases. I may actually email them to express my displeasure in the faint hope they’ll take the feedback on board.

The Raoh has 2 different variants. One with a light main and a golden helmet and one black repaint with a spiked helmet.

The kenshiro set only came in one version and it has kokuoh with the bandaged eye from when he rides it following raohs death.

All 3 are dope.

They are the same scale. The head on the figma is a little smaller, but the rest of the body and proportions are the same.

There’s definitely two versions of Kenshiro out there, one comes with gold shoulder pads and a different livery on Kokuoh Go’s saddle, the other with metal shoulder pads.

Any kind of paint removal chemicals will also remove the paint from the forearm. You could try to carefully shave off the paint slop with a razor or hobby knife.
