How do you utilize your toys? Everytime I look at my shelf of models I never actually do anything with I feel slightly guilty, I feel like i'm just a hoarder, I never play with them in any fashion or use them for anything other than shelf decorations. And I feel like I've never understood how to properly have fun with toys, I've used LEGO sets for RPGs and stuff in the past and that was cool, but things like action figures and the like I never really do anything with, and I've always been like this, even when I was a kid I liked toys in theory, and they seemed cool, but I never played with them, I would just buy them, mess around with them for a bit, and throw then into a box with other toys, never to be used.

I play with them in my head. If I do not physically have a figure I need for my story I need to buy it. I write the most complex aspects of my head universe but I can't write dialogue for shit so it is mostly a mish mash of movies I have seen.

I use them as artist's models, and for silly pictures. The hoarding risk is real, though. Be judicious in what you buy, toys should bring you joy. If you have stuff posed on your shelf, change some poses, play around with your toys for a bit.

Pose/display them in ways that'll make you laugh. Have characters interacting in ways they never would, make them do ridiculous things, swap heads. Maybe take some pics of setups you like to save then rearrange them again when you're in the mood.

With that said, I'm also into toy photography.

Models are one thing because they're not usually designed for frequent handling, but for action figures if you NEVER handle them (assuming they aren't in some amazing display that you sent hours setting up and don't want to take down) you should probably sell the ones you care the least about. I find selling things to be hard at first, but only very rarely do I ever look back and go "man I wish I had that back"

I started a YouTube channel about them.

It's quite nice to pick one up and just fly it around the room for a bit, especially if there's some weight and heft to it.

Not even a particular fan of Deadpool - but then I guess that's why I have two decapitated Deadpools in my spare parts box.
