Are toys still thing or has it all changed over the past years? Is it alot softer nowadays?

I think kids are into games and streaming, you dont see kids out running the neighborhood till the street lights come on much anymore. I see kids in the toy aisle while i shop often but i see more grown folks. Now with the VID keeping everyone seperate you cant even visit yr friends to play toys anymore but you can link up on video games. Growing up toys had a social aspect, trading or mixing up guys for WARS etc, that isnt an option anymore.

G2 had its plug pulled before its official first reveal. They canned all future advertizing, rushed the project to completion, and skirted any standard projections for it. It was killed to make more room for Ninjago because at the time Ninjago was a massive seller (which I understand the logic of but is irrelevant to the point.)

So yes, when you don't advertise a product at all and barely ship it to stores, it doesn't sell.

The toy market for children 6+ has completely died. All thats left is lego. Kids still buy beyblades, and card games though. Action figure sales have tanked.

Ironically, theres no reason to buy a black series figure when you can get 2-3 minifigures for the same price.

I think fortnite figures are doing ok, but i don't know. Kids like the solo figures more than legendary series because 12$ is the most parents will pay.

I think alot of this has to do with the lack of real marketing, more then the rise of digital media. Other than transformers, no one wants to put millions into a tv show anymore to sell toys.

Bionicle is a flop of a franchise. The west is a liberal utopia where nothing new or interesting is explored, only remakes and rehashes. Japan is the only country pushing forward new ideas for toys.

The poll was for a singular winning anniversary set, so the winner gets a singular set.

It's one of the reasons why I don't get the AFOL hate. They straight-up have the chance to ensure Bionicle only gets a singular set as opposed to a wave - allowing time and devotion to the other themes as full on waves.

Youtube channels are the marketing now. Some toy channels get million of views, but yeah, it's possible if not likely that most of those are targeted at the under-9yr crowd.

I suspect pokemon stuff is still popular among basically all ages, but that ofc isn't just a toy franchise.
