I attempted something similar with the rooms in the dollhouse shown here, but the string lights did not adhere to the ceilings for long, and I'm not to keen on getting duct tape or glue involved. The house has some fine light fixtures installed, but wiring beyond the first floor is nonfunctional and would likely require a full gut-out to repair.
