Has this recently happened to any of you? It doesn't have to be Bionicle. Maybe as a kid I dreamed about finding a long lost toy or receiving a toy that I coveted as a present. I just find it hard to believe any grown-ass adult still dreams about toys.

it's an uncommon theme but not abnormal. i dream about other stuff too because i have bad eating habits, but every dream i have about toys is that im shopping somewhere and filling up a cart full of things (im convinced) that ive always wanted. It always takes place in a mall/store ive never been too, and yet it appears fully realized with multiple floors, a wide mural and some escalators. Then i wake up sometimes with my hand stretched across the bed, as it clenches on to nothing but the air.

90% of all my toy-related dreams involve me finding some new line of badass Kenner xenomorph figures with wild transparent plastic colors, scaled up to 6-inch scale, better posing capability plus gimmicks, and something always prevents me from getting them in the dream. It’s thrilling but always leaves me feeling disappointed at the end of the dream.

I've had dreams that Bionicle was back with new sets a couple times, or even that a couple old ones got reissued. One of my dreams had some of the canisters busted open on the shelves with loose parts everywhere. Damn Bionicle.

Didn't bother with the video, but I regularly have dreams where I'm visiting some obscure used toy/collectibles store and find some surprising, unlikely treasure among all the scuffed up he-man and super hero figures.
Probably because it once happened to me, and the memory stuck with me.
I once found this guy, loose but complete at a local toy store (that is not closed down) which was crazy because they hardly had any Japanese collectibles otherwise.

What a weirdly poignant thread for me. I JUST woke up 30 minutes ago from a dumb nightmare that I was living in a cheap shitty apartment that was easy to break into, and a nebulous little blonde spoiled-brat dream girl kept breaking into my apartment and stealing my figures a couple at a time. I went to her house and accused her to her dream parents, who put in no effort to get her to give my stuff back. I gave up, went back to my dream apartment, and she immediately started breaking in again and stealing more of my figures. Finally I broke into her room to take my figures back, and she had already mutilated some of them. I went back to my place one last time, and planned to just beat the shit out of her as she was breaking in this time. I woke up just as she was breaking in, and I was running at her. When I woke up, I realized that as a 35 year old man I'm way too fucking old to be having these kinds of dreams, even if many of my figures are worth a couple hundred or more by now.

Maybe it’s a sign that it’s time to sell your figures. My SO has a 2 year old nephew that used to throw tantrums every time he would visit because he “can’t reach the toys on anons shelf“. Once he was able to reach my Castle Crashers figure and broke one of its swords. This figure is almost irreplaceable, and made me think that it might not be worth hanging on to expensive plastic. You never know if there is going to be a house fire or flood that is going to wipe your collection, or worse, having children. Don’t ignore your dreams, they may be trying to tell you something.

Lol nah. I know where you're coming from, but I JUST started buying figures last year, because I finally had the leeway to be spending money on me for once. Not just figures either, but artbooks and posters I always wanted. Otherwise I was one of those "Guys think it's OK to live like this" bare walls meme. I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck, and spending all my money on rotating bills and student loans, so each paycheck I started buying one or two figures. I'm not about to get rid of them or anything else over one stupid dream I had due to eating too much last night, and there's 0 kids in my life (which makes the dream all the weirder to me).

The only specific toy I remember was some kind of a pirate island playset. There were these small mountains or something with little shacks or guard towers or something on top of them with a rope bridge connecting them.

The one I strongly remember until today was this dream where I slept in my bed, facing sideways, and there was a big box of millions or so Lego pieces next to my bed. In the dream, when I turned around to the other side, my arm/hand landed into that opened box, feeling the Lego pieces were real. And I woke up because the pieces felt real and I do not have that many Lego pieces (I collect other toylines/brands as well).

I have this same dream but the malls in my dreams are always wild looking. One store front on my store was made entirely of chrome with big swooping lines, this dream mall also had a horse carousel about 4 times bigger than any carousel I’ve been on.

I've had numerous dreams where I find some rare WWF Bonecrunchers (odd repaints that don't exist in reality) and I start to pick up whichever ones I can find. Then after a bit of looking down the aisle, I find a massive wall with every wrestler I could ever think of as a Bonecruncher. I put down the ones I grabbed in the start and take my time digging through the massive wall.

Well, I keep dreaming of buying the toys that I used to have as a kid. like HG1/100 Gundam DX, SD Gundams, Poppy Voltes V/Daimos, consoles and manga.

Well, I see them still available now, but for some reason, my brain can't justify to buy them to relive my nostalgia or childhood, it keeps rationalizing that there are better articulated versions of the toys with better engineering today.

I had a dream recently that Lego was releasing new sets in a lot of old themes. Forestmen, Wolfpack, Aquazone, Blacktron 2, and a ton of others, all with packaging that looked like the old sets. It was hard trying to decide which ones to get cause I couldn't afford them all. There were so many of each theme too.
