Before you point out that Aquaman made over a billion dollars at the box office, stores like Walmart ordered this shit a year in advance, knowing only about the disappointing sales numbers from Justice League and that Aquaman is/was widely laughed at for being a medicre character.
All they care about is the fact that its a big franchise movie that gets tons of marketing and there's a chance that kids will eat that shit up.
PS, i know all about Peter David's reboot where he basically made him into Namor (and that most people hated that Aquaman became king douche).
