One thing people forget is they own mega bloks, which does make money from adults but is widely recognized as a lego clone.
Overall mattel has no interest in collectors and can be avoided.
If you want toys for adults that cost 20$ see hasbro, jazzwares, and mcfarlane.
If you want the best in quality, see bandai.
If you want cheap fun, buy jakks pacific.
