Did some final touch ups to my Ice Planet/Miner Mech Mashup

>got rid of some of the ugly yellow pieces
>gave it a flame thrower and missile launcher
>created a backpack that is also a small mining vehicle
>weapons are interchangeable with both arms and mining vehicles
>minor touch ups

I think I'm happy with it now.

Any more feedback? The last bit of feedback I got was really helpful

I like these panels quite a bit, BL part 30117 for the non decorated version for whoever was interested.

Pretty cheap overall, like a dollar, including all the printed trans green / neon green versions. The plain black or light grey could be used all sorts of places.

As usual im a sucker for big transparent parts used in unique ways.

Posterboard is $1 per sheet and comes in lots of colors. Just put a piece on a desk and curl it up the wall and you have a nice neutral backdrop.

Calculator Man has so many great parts. For some reason people didn't want him because I kept finding loose CM pieces scattered all over the Lego shelves and surrounding floor at Walmart. I ended up with two complete figs including accessories plus a third armor, helmet, and visor just from finding loose pieces.

I hardly ever see opened CMF bags, but that wave was really hit hard by shoplifters.

I got one because without the armour he's kind of a stealth release of a Phantom minifigure. (Pic from google search, not mine.)

I've only ever seen CMF pieces scattered once, and it was two brides which is dumb because the slope piece is the easiest thing to feel. I felt compelled to buy them so they wouldn't get thrown out, it didn't occur to me to just keep the parts.

I'm rather surprised you found that wave to be hit so hard by thieves, none of the figures were terribly valuable. They were after Red Hood, I guess?

They've got the license, I think minifig scale sets are coming. Though I imagine it'll only be a couple sets since there isn't a lot in terms of minifig scale structures to be implemented for mario sets. Most of the stuff in the games is environmental and repetitive or character based, which I think played a large role in the choices so far.

A CMF series would work well with it.

Good is relative. In the context of a 4+ set, it's more about playability.
The turret isn't properly playable with the ship because it can't point up, and the ship isn't swooshable. Those aren't adult marvel fan complaints.

I'm glad Lego cheaped out and used a single piece of tape to close the vidiyo minifigs instead of gluing the boxes shut. It made it very easy for me to use a knife to open the boxes in the store and find the ones I wanted. Plus, now some kids will be able to guarantee they get the ones they want.

I remember there was speculation about how licenseshit material had to include actual lego (or lego-like) elements for props and vehicles, while the shitty cartoons based on in-house licenseshit are allowed to use non-lego elements (but kinda looking like the actual toys). This appears to be a consistent rule across DC/WB/Marvel stuff so there might be some truth to this.
For this case in particular, both planes are lego but the actual set has specialized parts that make it look "less lego" than the one in game.

Of course, take this with a grain of salt, much like the "star wars blocks in-house space themes" meme, there's no official confirmation AFAIK.

Lego probably chose to deliberately distance the set from the actual plane to fit with their "no military" rule. As for the videogame, they could make it more accurate to the film because TT didn't have to abide by those rules. Hence why there were wehrmacht and ss minifigs in game but they never made it to the sets.

Gave it some thought but that would've introduced complications and structural integrity issues. With the minisub deployed one can travel from stem to stern in this vessel, with any crew in the rear compartment isolated from the rest when it's stowed. Hadn't planned on the ship getting this big but the requirement for both space and sea travel necessitated an enlarged engineering section. All things considered this is about the minimum heh.

If you check the total weights between the different figs, you'll probably find that they're about even. Printing costs extra, which might skew the results if some figs have more printed elements than others.

For example, shark comes with the shark head, while cowboy comes with a minifig head and a cowboy hat.
