I think a break and a refocusing could do him well, but at this point he seems to be falling into the trap a lot of creators fall into. His ego's supercharged and he sees himself as an "artist," but like you said, a content creator is more of a dancing monkey, which really chafes if you're a genuine creative type. A disconnect forms between you and your audience, and your artistic impulse will do things your audience won't like. Some creators revel in it because they see it as a competition - your BGEs. Others just make what they want, audience be damned, and cultivate a small but dedicated cult following - Endless Jess, Oboe. But some resent their audience and their niche while still trying to milk as many views as possible from it. You can see this with Spoony, Doug Walker, Digibro/ny/hine/whateverhe/she/they are calling themselves these days.
I really hope Jobby gets better. The guy has talent - but if he wants to be an artist he should get a day job to finance his work and settle for a small audience. There's a big difference between art and entertainment, and right now he's an entertainer.
