I wish i had known this figure was going to be released last night, so i missed out by being at work.
I think this is actually why people are bitching, because it's limited time shit. Personally, I'm not angry nor even slightly peeved, but i understand why someone would be upset.
So the fact it's within the price range of other Mezco figures makes me think that peoplare just making other shit up to piss on Mezco's little club releases. And i really can't blame Mezco for making it limited, because how many people really want this stuff? I easily glossed over most of their Rumble Society stuff EXCEPT for the first pink skull guys, which i'm still upset over missing out on.
Like most companies, Mezco wants $$$$$$ and would want to sell everyone a million figures, claiming that 1,000,000 is a limited number by marking them individually like Playmates did with the Star Trek line in the 90s, but this shit is probably just being made for like 5k maximum. I'm sure Mezco has the actual numbers based on hits to their store's pages and waitlistings, or gauging it based on some other release that didn't sell out within the first day or hours. So Mezco plays it pretty conservatively with their production numbers.
I'll be on the waiting list for this release, so here's hoping a lot of people flake out. No real loss if i miss out though, since I'm not at all attached to these generic figures.... generic coolness anyway.
