>>8867851>>8867877>>8867982I would say the only thing these figs have going for them is the ab crunch and the hip articulation. He seems to know what he's talking about in terms of what is cost-effective for production costs. That being said, this guy has a massive case of dunning kruger. Just because you understand anatomy and can point out the origin and insertion of specific muscles doesn't mean you can accurately depict them in a 3dimensional form. Theory does not equal application. His figures (aesthetically) are no better than the very figures he takes a steaming shit on every day. Just look at that bicep to forearm ratio. The arms looks really strange because the bicep and triceps cut off so high up on the upper arm. I'm hoping this was a design choice to allow for more articulation. I will say that the abdominals are done really well though.
But jeez, those designs, this is like peak 90's "we have no standards or budget for artists so we'll hire literally anyone because we need someone to do the art" level of design quality. It's quite awful. This is coming from someone who makes a living off of doing customs, you'd think he'd have at least SOME idea of how to make an aesthetically interesting "cyber ninja". Like jeez, he couldn't think of anything better than to sculpt literal square abs for robotic torso? The helmets he sculpted in the pic aren't even unique idea's... it's just off-brand ryu hyabusa, reaper from overwatch, and kung lao lol.
All that being said, good for him for making his own figs and if he can get his fanbase to buy them then he's making a wise business decision.
