He's Wally in the original UK version, but they changed him to Waldo for America

Gadget has all the articulation you'd want and expect, but his friends are more or less accessories for him and are effectively statues. Gadget himself even has hips, which you think they could have ignored since his solid plastic trenchcoat would block his legs.

It was an American made show, so Waldo is actually the default. They were smart and did a "Wally" version at the same time so they wouldn't have to make any real changes for airing back over in the UK.
