Judging by how large the wings are you’ll have to attach them. If that is the case they could easily add in cloth for the cape wings. I dont wanna break em bros, I just wanna pose my turtles Please lemme know if its anti-NECA shills or if the joints really are that bad; also, can I just put the figs in a plastic bag & then place them in warm water? How long do I leave them in there, assuming I just use water from the sink
Anonymous
>>8885117 I've been buying NECA figures on and off since 2011 or so, and since then I've only had one break on me (it was a Pacific Rim Jaeger, and I'd owned it for a while, it didn't break right out of the package). Most of them felt really damn sturdy to me, actually, to the point where I was probably too careless with them. I think the most recent fig I bought from them was the Kenner Rhino Alien, which again, feels like a brick to me. He even took a shelf dive (4 feet or so onto carpet) and is totally fine.
But I think there are exceptions to every rule, and maybe that was me. So just to be safe, I would approach with a lot of caution, and if anything feels gummy or even a little bit stuck, apply heat. Never force it. You don't need to put them in a plastic bag, just run them under warm water from the tap for 30 secs to a minute. It needs to be hot enough to actually warm up the plastic, but it shouldn't be scalding. If you can still hold your hand under it with no discomfort, you're probably good.
Anonymous
>>8885148 The Godzilla line was really sturdy, too. I unironically like them better than the SHMA counterparts.

Anonymous
>>8885948 tftoys is good but they usually don’t stray much from transformers. if they do indeed get something in stock, definitely go for it
all that said, there’s no perfect option for Canadians. most of that is because most places go out of business — none of them are large enough to make companies like neca and Hasbro send their shit to Canada on time, we are always the last place to get a distributor shipment. tftoys will get their neca product in even later than BBTS does, and it’s not their fault either
and that’s why all these places close. it’s hard to compete when your customers will inevitably get their products in hand weeks or months later than anyone on Instagram. most collectors go straight to importing and prefer the extra cost for the speed
Anonymous
>>8885959 he is an asshole for sure. I personally do not like the guy. but as someone who ran a failed toy business in Quebec, the cancellation fees are necessary. even with a direct account, every company sends their shit to Canada dead last. collectors get impatient every time even if you explain this upfront, and then a large percentage of them grab it off eBay or from bbts to get it sooner and cancel their order. then you’re stuck with stock that you can’t move anymore because the product came out a month ago in the United States.
that’s no excuse for nmc’s bad customer service, of course. I encourage you to make up your own minds, just keep in mind a lot of this is out of Canadian retailer’s hands

btw, just because someone said “con artist,” there’s no current Canadian toy retailer who is a con artist. bad distribution affects every store and there are individual retailers who are bad at running their business, but there’s no scammers. there was a dude who was who went out of business — he’d do shit like cancel people’s preorders on hot items and then scalp them on local commerce sites that weren’t connected to his retail identity. we hounded his ass for that. there are poorly ran toy businesses in Canada and there are assholes but none of them are scammers like that guy

Am I crazy or do the proportions look really fucked up? His leg length, musculature and bodyshape is so triangular it makes him look too lean and skinny or something, which he shouldn't be. IT seems like NECA is using the old concept art from the show, because i definitely remember Disney's previews being different than how the show came out. Disney had stuff at Comic Con way back in the 90s to promote it with Marvel at their booth, including a half sized maquette.
So there's definitely a lot of art showing off a realistic style somewhere.

I personally am a fan of each the cartoon styling nd the more realistic take NECA is doing. I think that the realistic designs are better in 3D. I'm never a huge fan of stylized cartoons being brought into 3D. It looks weird half the time. Like look at the DCC BtAS line, half those figures can barely stand due to their stick legs. It may match the source material but it saceadices funtionality. I think NECA is making the right move by doing their own thing, or at the very least, basing it off of that more realistic art style. I can't wait to see the rest of the main cast. Stone Variant Goliath might also be in there instead of one of the bad guys to get people considering double-dipping on all of the main gargoyle figures at the beginning of the line.
No way is Lex part of the initial set because his wings are going to be a nightmare to figure out and they likely were testing the waters before deciding if they should bother.

Either way, in a year or two when hype starts to die down, they release Demona. Hype re-ignites. The hardcores who have been keeping tabs on the line start talking about the new toy, and both previous and new casuals hear about it. Now all the "old" gargoyle figures have even more value, because people who missed the boat are forced to buy their team with after-market prices.
People see Neca products selling for hundreds of dollars a figure. Brand recognition and acclaim go up. Neca seems like a good company to buy products from or invest it. No one wants to "miss the boat" again so they decide to finish their full team "just in case", maybe even buying characters they don't really care about.
A year or two after that, Neca produces repaints of the molds they already paid for "due to fan demand". They get positive press because "they listened to the fans" about how hard it was to complete the gargoyles team. Hype train starts all over again.
It's the best business decision they could make, honestly.

At most, Steel Clan Xanatos will allow them to repaint and thus pack in steel clan drones with other characters in two packs like they did with the foot soldiers.
>>8894777 >>diverse You clearly haven't watched the series. Diverse has more than one meaning, and in this case it's apt. The team is a mash up of sci fi body horror themes.
>Fox(y) woman who is normal. >Genetically enhanced werewolf man >Cybernetically enhanced siblings with buzzsaw arms, telescoping limbs, and all sorts of other weird shit >Australian iron man who refused to modify his body and is horrified by his friends >Giant terminator faced robot who is growing increasingly insane This is one hell of a diverse team of bad guys. All you're really missing is the magic user, which arguably Fox could have been in the future.
