Thinking about trying my hand at designing a concept for a battle beasts homage line. Any suggestions for possibly turning this into an actual product?

Make them a bit bigger and articulate them. Give them fun weapon loadouts. The rest of the concept sells itself. Also pick fun animals.

One idea I had was that they would be divided into factions based on the animals environment. Starting ones would be Savannah, Forest, Artic, and Ocean, with more like Jungle and Desert being released in later waves.

Make it like mega construx halo or cod. Small, tons of articulation and swappable armor. You can even reuse the same body, just change hands and feet to make it species-appropiate, and bigger molds for the bigger animals to have size diversity.

I was thinking of a similar body system to mega construx, the size would also allow for vehicles and bases, also monsters like the scrapped "beast eaters".

Heavy into transformable vehicles ala MASK and play up the transformers connection lorewise

Vehicles and weapons are ideally compatible with smaller transformers as well

Slight size increase, hard plastic, just add leg/knee/elbow/neck/hand/feat articulation (I'd say waist but on some figures it would break up the armour).

It would be an original IP, just in the same vein as Battle beasts with small collectable techno-animal warriors. Most transformers references would be in the form of homages. (Falcon/eagle mold redecoed in red, blue, and black, etc.)

What would be some good animals to include for early waves? Thinking the first few will be based on "normal" animals, albeit with unrealistic redecos, and later years could go into stuff like dinosaurs. Might be sold through blind bags or boxes.

You gotta start with a lion for sure, that's the closest thing the series has to main character.
Then I'd do an alligator, deer, and a fish and bird of any kind.
For tour homages you could do it like the 4 Horsemen does with the MOTU homages where it's 2 homage figures in a special wave along with new ones.
