>>8926633>Shit animation that's jarring and uncannyI disagree. The first one was done by Mercury, and I think the movements are a bit(or at least trying to be) more fluid than their usual stuff. If it's any consolation, the sequel's animation was done by the Motorcity guys.
>Humor that's forced or insultingI also disagree. Juvenile, yes, but I think some of the jokes are on par with a lot of shows released at the time.
>Characters are one note like BF5 and have very weak synergy even when they begin to work togetherYou could technically say the same about the Highway 35 cast, pre-Acceleracers.
>Larry is shit at this gigHmmm, yeah
>The fact Larry has to trash an entire city to get 4 boys to work together and be superheroes when they didn't even ask for it or want itThe weird thing is that these movies are supposed to be prequels to the live-action stuff
>Bad attempt of making HW's TMNT which on paper would be really niceThe whole Team Hot Wheels in general(even the live-action stuff) was kinda half-baked to begin with
>Does a poor job of setting up the world and not having much of one at all in the first place>All characters are unlikable and barely have redeeming qualitiesWe all have our opinions, so I don't know if you'd find the sequels any better.
As for why I like it, I guess it's in the concept. It kinda reminded me of a kid version of Motorcity(Motorcity diecasts never ever), and this kinda filled the hole enough that I could look past its problems. I also really liked the tie-in castings. I feel they conveyed each driver's gimmick better than the High-Speed Wheel cars.
