Man, we are so close to that JP crossover I can just taste it. Pretty impressed with Paleotrex, first Fossilizer (can't find the others anywhere) and he just happened to be restocked at my local Target today. His Transformation is something I think I'll have a hard time remembering but I'm looking forward to using his parts on my other figures to see what I can make.

It should be noted, the molds for titan classes are extremely expensive and Hasbro barely makes even on them. Retail partner don’t like the amount of shelf space they take up so they don’t stock much and if they do, collector wait until they are clearances

It just kinda surprises me that Hasbro decided to do two of their biggest names as Wal-Mart exclusives, even though everything else in the toyline is just redecos and recolor of other guys and that Wal-Mart itself seems to barely have any of them.
If they both pop up on Hasbro Pulse, I'll definitely scoop them up; I was kinda hesitant about getting them (I skipped on a Bumblebee at an out-of-town Wal-Mart) before I learned how much of a pain it is to get them. Honestly kinda amazes me that Soundwave doesn't have a pre-order available for some sort of pre-order right now.

Transformers GO! Hunter Shockwave

I just had to get the Japanese version. The black is so slick. It was just the logical choice.
Now that it is somewhat fresh in my mind I think the Cyberverse version has slightly better proportions than the voyager.
By which I mean the cannon is bigger so it covers more of the dead space of the tank's plateau there.

This really is such a barebones vehicle mode. I don't really remember him using it that much aside from when he bites in Predacon Rising but I do remember it being much more solid there.

This is one of those toys where the robot mode is the whole thing.
The vehicle is just a technicality.

Prime Shockwave sort of reminds me of what Evil Rhinox could have been. A big guy that could absolutely ruin you with his huge body but is much more inclined to take the intellectual approach.

Was there a release of this guy that didn't have the armor or was Beast Hunters Shockwave the only one?
Either way, I'd guess about 15% of his mass it is super soft plastic. The armor, the fins on his cannon, back, and head, and obviously the tank treads.

It is pretty cool how one of the treads unspools to become the signature Shockwave cannon connecting cable

It really bugs me how little finesse there is to the articulation.
The toy wants to move like a bruiser, not an intellectual. I'm most bummed about his head not being able to look up and down. The cut of his hand's ball joint is weird too.

That touch of quality Takara adds shines through like always. Extra glossy plastic, picked out paint job, the works.

It would be remiss of me to not add that Prime Shockwave here probably has one of the best "push on plunger and watch a thing spin" gimmicks in the franchise.

I really wouldn't recommend this, even the original Hulkie was kind of shit.

I'd really suggest TFC's Hercules, he scales great with the Generations Combiners. There's also Maketoys' Giant, but he's much pricier, on top of not being as good.

Rodimus Primal was going to be a Fuzor in the original BW show and toys. Fox and phoenix. Hasbro wanted Optimus brought back, so the mold was cast in gray plastic and became Silverbolt. Scorponok's transtector was destroyed at the end of Headmasters so him and the other Decepticons fled into space, I don't remember Zarak himself getting any sort of scar like that but his transtector ended up with a massive gash on the chest in that battle if I remember right so it's a reference to that I'm pretty sure. Once he was possessed by Devil Z you never actually see Black Zarak as a headmaster so there was nothing to go on for this smaller body from the anime.
The eyepatch on the other hand comes from his demon general form in Zone.

I think I have two? Well, Two and a Half, I bought the Optimus evolution pack, but the Grimlock one had that awful Energon Grimlock so I swapped out the AoE Grimlock with the better paint job in it for my stock one and returned it.

And Windblade. There's a handful I meant to pick up over time: I always wanted Rollbar from the Breakout battle set, and I really meant to get the Protectbots 2-pack Hot Spot since he was just red firetruck with a hook/ladder to be Fire Chief. But yeah, not so Thrilling.

pin punching isn't too bad desu. in my experience, if you get one, avoid the auto punch ones in favor of a normal manual punch (looks like an icepick or something).

Black Zarak didn't have a headmaster in the anime, so this component was essentially replaced by Devil Z itself.

I could also be a nod to the legends comic which explicitly depicted Devil Z in his chest
