Pops just kind of stand there, they look terrible, sometimes you can't even tell what they are supposed to be. They also seem attract a specific type of people who are generally insufferable, for collecting them at least, there are plenty of normal people who just own one or two.
At the end of the day just give it the birthday test.
If it was my birthday, I'd rather open my presents to see a beanie baby than to see a funko pop.
