>>8895563Notice that Funko Pops look their best when they diverge from the typical head design. The standard soulless black eyes look right on this figure because they're meant to be large, blank eye sockets. The skull has dimension because of the mandible and zygomatic, so it looks more like a living creature (despite being a skeleton) than a standard Pop with a flat brick for a head. Huge flat surfaces in character designs can work in 2D art, but they don't look natural in 3D because most living creatures are round. Animal Pop figures also tend to turn out better because their snouts and ears interrupt the huge, empty face real estate. The trademark eyes could be vastly improved, especially because they make most of these figures utterly off-putting, but they can look right on certain birds or reptiles. Some humans and humanoid monsters look good when their faces have detail in the cheeks and nose and include the mouth. Funko actually has potential when they let the artists take the reigns, so it's a damn shame they waste the opportunity. TLDR: fix the eyes, let the sculptors do their job and sculpt, and Pops can turn out alright.
