>>8903197>Why does it say Tune Squad and not Toon? they're the Looney Toons for christ sake.Nope.
Back in the 1920s, sheet music sales were huge profit makers for studios. Disney created "Silly Symphonies" animated shorts to help promote sheet music sales. Warner Bros. studios countered with their own animated shorts called "Merrie Melodies" and "Looney Tunes".
As the entertainment industry evolved, these animated shorts eventually moved away from music promotion but Warner Bros. kept the Looney Tunes name. So "Looney Tunes" is correct. Then Warner Bros. fueled more confusion when they created the "Tiny Toons Adventures" TV series rather than "Tiny Tunes Adventures."
