It shows that they have no respect for your possessions simply because it has no value to them. I worked with someone who every 6 months has her kids pick out a bunch of toys they want to keep, and then throws the rest in the trash. Doesn't donate them, doesn't give them to other people's kids. Just tosses them, and it teaches the kids really bad habits because they know that eventually all their toys are just gonna get thrown away, so why look after them? All their toys end up broken, and they constantly being bought new shit which follows the same cycle.
