Two brands immediately come to mind: Sluban and Ausini. Also old Enlighten. There used to be a shitton of old Enlighten Castle, Space and Pirates stock. I don't see it as often any more, but there's still folks selling on Aliexpres.

I think that's the Super 18K set K166 "Ichiraku Ramen Shop". Though that's likely unlicensed - seeing as Qman/Enlighten/Keeppley got the official Naruto license now.

They got a bunch of licenses lately it seems.
They have Pokemon sets as well as Neon Genesis Evangelion.

AliExpress is lousy with Ideas projects that got knocked off before being officially rejected by Lego. You just have to know what you're looking for. What the creators of these projects fail to recognize is that these Chinese brands are reverse-engineering many of the sets, meaning that while they might look similar, they won't be exact copies. The Chinese also know to change small details of the builds to deflect accusations of plagarism. So there is nothing for these creators to cry about.

Not likely. That's the beauty of everyone standardising on the same things where patents ran out long ago - screws, electrical connectors, radio encoding, building block dimensions and so on. The innovation is in how you put those elements together, not in the connections and elements themselves.

Patents only protect items for a given amount of time, and Lego has no more patent protection for 99% of their pieces.

Everything is how its supposed to be, the inventor can profit by his invention for 20-ish years, but afterwards the competition is allowed to copy that invention, in order to give the customer the choice and to prevent monopoly.

They are THIEVES, I don't mind if you think that they do any kind of retro-engineering (with poor results in most cases). They just COPY, COPY and COPY. All plagiarism accusations are well deserved. Companies like these are making really poor favors to other legit chinese companies like Qman.

That guy worked really hard to design that set from scratch (HIS OWN DESIGN) and creating all the art included in it. Of course, it is based on Naruto brand, so the building MUST look similar to the one in the anime. What the chinese company is doing is just COPYING the design and using the renders of the designer for promotion. That is called PLAGIARISM.

The user didn't steal anything, he already stated his idea is based on Naruto IP. The chinese company, however, stole his work, images and art. Might sound weird, but many cooperations between Chinese companies and MOC-designers started that way.
