Been rewatching the Unicron Trilogy, why can't Megatron just decide on a name, comes back to life in Energon and decides to change back from Galvatron to Megatron before going back to Galvatron again later. Obviously Hasbro need to shill those toys but it's just weird.

Blame Hasbro for that. Japan didn't have that issue since he stays Megatron for all of Armada, and upgraded to Galvatron in Energon. Japan didn't consider Cybertron a continuation of Energon, so he goes back to Megatron, then Galvatron.

It's a problem, the flipped center piece means the shoulders sit too low, so you're forced to flip the whole shoulder to get it right but the details will be wrong and also has leaves peg hole in full view.

It's not THAT curved. There's a clear gap at around the 45 degree point. Camera angles could be playing a large part here--at least half the ratchet is going to be visible no matter what.

Kinda get the vibe we'll get a different version of Scorponok down the line with a different chest and a different head to more accurately represent the Beast Wars version.

Either way, sadly the best version of BW Scorponok we have.

Well, there's parts of him I like, and parts of him I hate. They totally nailed the headsculpt, and I'm thrilled to see they included the cyberbee, but his torso's just too boxy and they fucked up the beast mode face. Still probably the best rendition of him we've ever had, and looks more like the show than the original toy. I just hope they don't fuck up my boys Tarantulus and Terrorsaur...assuming we even get those two...

The first episode seemed pretty good so far to me. Definitely wondering what the hell the main chick’s deal is.

They're still referencing transformers, one of the kids is Hooligan, the issue is that they aren't as blatant. Gridman had several cast members with details that were blatantly from a specific toy, and we haven't been able to make the connection as easily as last time.

In the beast wars cartoon there was some weird time travel stuff and the ark was from the future but landed on the earth millions of years in the past, so even though the maximals and predacons were from a time period thousands of years in the G1 future they landed on earth in the past while the G1 crew were in stasis. One of the major plot points in seasons 2-3 was beast megatron trying to destroy the spark of Optimus Prime while he was in stasis so he could alter the future/past.

No, it wasn't. The Axalon and Darksyde were from the future. The Ark really was millions of years old, and the Autobots and Decepticons inside really were in stasis lock for that long before waking up in 1984.

I like the beast mode okay, but (once again) they completely fucked the color from both the original toy and the show, so I think I'll wait for the inevitable recolor this time. I've been pre-ordering this whole line, but they've taught me NOT to do that, because A) they're going to be in stores before my pre-order arrives, and B) for some reason hasbro is giving these weirdly wrong color schemes, then fixing them in later releases.

I wonder what motivated them to make the legs angular. the original toy had round-cross-section legs, the original CG model did too, and instead of folding up under the body, they fold up to the back of the tail (Cleverly letting their knee joints function), so... they should have been rounded.

I remember trying to figure out what the references were. They tend to follow themes. The theme this time seems to be "unreleased". I had a few guesses but have since lost my list. That said, the main dude (I assume, haven't got around to watching yet) is certainly the unreleased G2 Grimlock.

Yes and no, there are four TF movies in development. Current the scripts for two of them are done but only one is being filmed which is the sequel to bumblebee. Rumor has it, the film will introduce a BW characters in it. A BW script was commissioned but it sounded like it was going to be a bit of departure from the normal BW premise. If Covid hadn’t happened the BW would probably happen soon

Honestly, if you’re willing to put in the effort, I’d give it a try for adding one of the official pics.
They wouldn’t really have a leg to stand on for reverting it seeing as the official product shots are out now and in its wouldn’t be the most risqué image or product shown on the site by a long-shot.
So if nothing else, if they do actually try to not have it on there, it could probably pretty easily be used to incite a minor flame war by voicing said arguments.

Transformers Cybertron Wreckloose
A funky little lizard from the Beast Planet.

I'm not sure what it is but he really seems to stand out from his peers.
Maybe it's all the alt mode articulation, all four limbs have useful range of movement and there's a bend at the midsection and tail. The jaw opens too and all the little teeth feel good to run your nail on.

Maybe it's the great paint job. Whoever designed this guy must had a real craving for some transmetal 2 design because there's a large amount of asymmetry in both the sculpt and paint apps. I really like the way the underside of the neck fades to black.

Maybe it's the fact he's a monitor lizard and that isn't something Transformers turn into a lot of the time.

His giant shoulder pads and big floppy feet shouldn't work but they do.

I'm not even sure what it's supposed to be. At first it might look like a shield, then when you plug a cyberkey in it sort of looks like a bow.

But it can't really be held as either since Wreckloose plugs exclusively on the underside of his forearm. His lizard feet get in the way when he tries to bend his elbow too.

Playing with Wreckloose a bit, I find he lends himself more to neutral poses than dynamic ones. Even if he does have quite a bit of movement for a UT Basic. Including, like, four joint in each shoulder, a neck, and a waist.

And I have to say, his green eyes don't pop out very well against his yellow-green skin.

By far the most disappointing Titan Class. His robot mode and Ark mode looks great but the hands can't do anything other than move the thumbs left and right, he's the shortest Titan out there standing at 19 inches where others are 24 inches and above and looks like there's no transforming base mode. Mainframe/Teletraan 1 is great though.

Man even the original toy looks better in that mode, since the arm ramps actually extend to function as ramps, the feet bend down and kind of stop looking like feet, and the center tower is big enough to not just look like a boner.

I can deal with Fortmax being made up of like half reused Metro parts, since this shit is expensive, the budgets were still trash at the time, and Titan class was still not really a proven concept to the bean counters. But they didn't get away with reusing Metro's shins, they needed to be new parts if they wanted Fortmax to have proper altmodes. It wasn't standard yet but they really needed to get ankle joints onto him too, Metro and Fortmax are nearly unposable because anything that doesn't have their legs straight down becomes a balancing act.

That's a good point. I've found stuff at retail that I've had sitting in the Pile for a while, and just cancelled it to get my money back. BBTS's prices can be a little higher but they're very easy to work with, so it's a tradeoff.

I was never the biggest fan of Cybertron but I did love the jungle planets Transmetal throwback look and Wreckloose is one of my favourites. Love how they designed the robot mode joints to give his komodo dragon mode loads of articulation.
I always thought of his weapon as a repeating crossbow, like Guts, except underslung.

Bots that are very big or small should take on a wider range of alt modes.

Airazor just arrived, i'm definitely not using hasbro pulse anymore for pre-orders since they arrive so late. but man, aside from the too much orange, she's pretty fucking fantastic. I can't believe we actually have a bird mode this good
and the wing was slightly misassembled so I was able to just pop that joint off and put it back properly. GOD it's nice having mass market toy engineering.
