It's lego, the whole point is you can make whatever you want, the sets are just a mild suggestion to your imagination.
If anything the real problem is sets slowly having higher prices with more specific pieces that only fit the theme they are meant for, versus being more utilitarian and being able to fit into a wider array of builds.
