My cousin, who was around my age, also got one, so we went outside and staged a 'American Gladiators' event where one of us would shoot from the landing at the top of the stairs, and the other would try to get close by running between the lawn furniture so as to be able to shoot back. Sadly, I no longer have many of my childhood toys, however I do have a nephew who has gifted me some of his old blasters, including an EBF-25 Vulcan which is a hoot for around the house. Heavy weapon guy blasters are fun, though most are time-consuming to reload.

No, you're totally right, there's no reason to venture outside standard/half-length darts or Rival rounds, at least not currently. They are the standard we have come to accept, because the N-Strike/Elite series lasted for so long that other companies make a lot of products compatible with it, and Hasbro did a legitimately good job with the Rival series being competitive blasters. If Nerf wants to push Ultra, I'd feel that is a mistake, because proprietary ammo at this point in the market is just going to confuse and irritate people because their shiny new blasters don't work with the old ones. I don't honestly know what to make of the Hyper line; on one hand, I don't know where else you can go with the Rival line. After the Perses and Prometheus, can you top those? But on the other, new ammo type... it's a tough sell.
On the Hades, it's funny because I just ordered one and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I have the Artemis, the Hades' little brother, and I was shooting it today against my partner. It's small, good capacity, and it's fun and reliable. I figure I can sling it on a one-point as a secondary for use with my Perses, Velocity, or forthcoming Hades.
