No. Omega Red has double jointed elbows, and butterfly joints
It sounds nuts, but I think he’s on the mold they used for Colossus way back in the warlock wave. The legs are the same, and it explains why he has single joint elbows, even though the arms would have to be new. But that would be make him super tall without being a BAF, which is what I think is happening. Holocaust is probably the BAF. Can’t remember a time they showed the BAF first either.

Granted some of these arent going to sell very high secondary, but even if you only get $10-15 for each, that can still be around $50-80 back depending on which ones you sell. 90s iron man and ultron will probably have a higher resale value as well to make up for duds like guardsman and darkstar. Also it depends on who is double packed. You can sell that one including the baf for higher.

it made sense to have iron man fight a mirror of himself, since it's a really easy formula. Every Super hero movie basically has the villain be a copy of the hero power set now. Superman 2 basically started it. It helps a story flow a lot better, that everything your explaining about the origins is for both characters.

Having to do anything with the mandarin in a movie was gonna slow it down. Really, it sucks RDJ became so huge. I would have preferred an Iron Man 4 over his heavy presence in Spider-man HC.

Anyway, what versions of the mandarin do people want to see in figure form? We are indeed over due.

Er, I chose that page from 1989 intentionally. Make him a (half)-Chinese industrial magnate that secretly employs alien tech (rings) and commands a fucking army of ninjas. Pretty simple. The point is they won't even depict a (half)-Chinese dude as a foil in the movies because of both international box office and domestic PR blowback.

How do you lads go about getting your ML figures? I've been out of it the last year and there's just so much that's been released since then in addition to the hundreds of figures. I'm honestly at a loss for what to even start getting first. Where do you get your stuff for prices that aren't retarded? How do you decide what figures to get? It helps to start focusing on one aspect of Marvel. I mainly collect X-Men stuff, and I have to actively stop myself from getting stuff outside of that just because I know if I start getting Iron Man stuff I'm gonna end up with like 20 different armor variations, or if I start getting Spidey stuff I'm going to want to get every villain he's fought.

My interest in Marvel shit isn't in question. I've spent a lot of time and money on a lot of merch like the filthy consoomer I am. I'm just asking how everyone else goes about getting their stuff and what they focus on or how they decide. I'd love to just grab every single figure but the ML series just has so much shit in it it's almost impossible. Exclusives and older waves/figures sometimes go for hundreds on Amazon or Ebay so getting them is damn near impossible for a decent price. Just curious to see how others do it.

Honestly with a lot of this stuff it's just a question of having been there at the right time. It can be tough to get into these purely because of how high things go for in the secondary market. If you're trying to have complete sets of a specific team you're going to be paying the late tax unless you were there when they were being released.

The best place to start is really just to check what's currently out and going for retail and see which ones grab your attention.

Right, so we're back at my original point that it's another big departure from the source character.

If people are down with another cinematic reimagining and are excited to have Wenwu on their shelf, more power to them. There were just cooler ways to realize the character.

The ring bullshit is all just complete speculation, the fact that he goes by wenwu and not the mandarin indicates he’ll likely get another more comic accurate costume which could be included in a Shang chi wave 2 along with a proper comic mandarin

Pretty much. The 80th one is good (although I had to paint the arc reactor yellow instead of white) but I did want to see him redone with straight red and yellow like his 60’s comic design. AI Iron Man is that design, but I’m going to have to paint the reactor again, and probably remove the mask to paint the eyes and mouth black too.

Didn't say I was looking to get more, but there are some characters I want figures of, and I always check in the marvel general to see if a better company is putting them out. I stil hold out a little hope hasbro will get better, but I'm usually dissapointed, their star wars tank trooper was pretty damn good all things considered.

For the $20 price point I feel like my expectations are met. Hell to get most good thirst party transformers you're going to be spending like $100+. I feel like people's expectations for a $20 line is way too high. Overall this looks great. Go look at the shit they pump out for Power Rangers instead and see how bad it could be.

I think Modular looks fine at the $20 mark. I just wish it did away with typical modern Legends Iron Man gold and went with yellow. Also wish it was at the $30 mark lile with War Machine to get more effect parts and such. But I'm sure some people appreciate not having to spend an extra $10 for any reason.

I think more people are starting to compare legends with mcfarlanes dc stuff and realizing hasbro is ripping them off. Mcdc is giving you unique sculpts, paint, and a better bang for your buck like the $25 batcycle.

The only thing the legends line does better is articulation but mcfarlane is improving that as well. The new omega figure is on par or better than ml

It gets worse when you know that star wars doesn't want to include accessories so they make other products under their parent brand follow suit and mimimize box contents so their minimum effort toys don't look bad in comparison through "perceived value". The franchise that said fuck you to its fanbase is holding marvel back because they don't want to look bad on the pegs next to marvel toys.

DC, evidently, isn't under such constraints.

Sure MLs can come with more accessories, but i'd rather have a body thats actually made for the character instead of a reuse of a reuse of a reuse that doesn't fit the character.

Quick little addition, EB had their $5 Fridays and I bought Hasbro's Sombra and the vintage carded Peter Parker. Sombra is a really solid figure, moves well and looks good, but damn if Parker isn't just mediocre. I thought for 5 bucks it might be fun to have as a photographer but he is just not fun to pose and extremely stiff. I guess I paid 5 dollars for his camera? These things are brain dead easy to find, they don’t break your wallet, and they have cool stuff and characters you won’t see in any other line. Has McFarlane taken a gamble on anyone Shazam related? No. Will figuarts ever make that one obscure X-Men character that was never in a movie? No. Will Mafex release X-Men fast enough for you to build the entire 90’s roster in the same decade? No. That’s it. It’s great that you like other brands and you can accept the trade off that more time/money/accessories is worth losing various perks of buying Legends, but we don’t need to have this discussion fifty million times a month.

Another plus of the price point, and wide selection of accessories is customizability. It takes some work, but since MLs all use similar body types, its fairly cheap and easy to kitbash and customize characters without the though of a $50 figure (or 3) being destroyed. I have a couple kitbashes on display as stand ins for unreleased characters, and I definitely wouldn't if I only had Mafex or McFarlane toys.

Sign up for their emails and on the Thursday email there will usually be a link so you can preview what will be on sale on Friday. Also click on the link on the homepage when it's up, it'll sometimes have different items from the email link. In my experience, you're not getting anything unless you get them shipped directly (this order is the first one where I've been able to get anything). I've tried to set up in-store pickups multiple times, including when the store was listed as having as many as 4 items in stock when I made the order (which does update as stock is bought), and not a single one has gone through.

The damn things items' prices are changed to $5 at often asinine hours, like 3am, 4am, or 11am, or whenever they feel like putting them up.

But then again, it's all subjective what we enjoy messing around with. I used to buy mls, but man, it's not even worth it anymore because of how shit it is, Todd isn't much better though. The thing about accessible purchasing is complete bogus though. Buying scarlet spider or hobgoblin was such a pain in the ass when they released, the whole Rhino wave was dumpstered because teh wave before it was so shit, and that's not an uncommon thing with that series.

They're only now starting to modernize, and only slowly, and even then, I stillthink marvel select, mafex, shf, revo or even figma give you more value per dollar than hasbro ever did.

Amazon is fine. I get figures directly from hasbro for the most part since I collect other stuff from them (transformers/power rangers). Big bad toystore isn't bad either, but they can be either super early or a later release than other stores. I've picked up a lot of things from Amazon, they're usually pretty good in support about replacing/returning if something is wrong.

Entertainment earth is ok, but shipping is a bitch. Dorksidetoys is about the same. Zavvi can sometimes have some crazy good deals compared to other stores, or shit that we don't have in stock here, since they're based out of the UK.

A combination of that and my lack of really collecting X-Men at this point are what kept me from going in on the Sentinel. I doubt thats coming, all I'm saying. You could release 2 Blue and Gold 5 packs maybe, but that could be years away.

Yeah. Synth is great. I use him for drawing poses. Which is something you can’t really do with legends. I love all of his extra hands. He’s top notch. But he is only one lone figure. My ML collection is deep. I can have literally thousands of team combinations. Even more really because I of ease of kitbashing.

Yes actually. They're making at least 21,899 figures.

A lot of people, including those in this thread, mentioned buying the limit (five) because they planned on keeping three for the squad, and selling two to recoup costs.

They won't be terribly hard to find on the secondary market, but expect them to be wildly expensive, and that's before you take shipping a two foot box into account.

I think you can still get it at retail. Hasbro pulse has her at $20, BBTS at $23.

She's fine, I prefer the older one from the green goblin baf since she looks closer to what i'd expect, but she's harder to pose. Hasbro is afraid of cleavage now so she doesn't really match her cartoon appearance in that aspect either.

Both version have issues with single jointed elbows, so hopefully we'll get a lot of female fig updates in the future with the new molds.

Be patient they will definitely release another cap. Worthy is good but not perfect. I don’t like his hammer hand. It’s not good for anything else. Look around for the old marvel now cap. It’s good and can be picked up sometimes for non rape prices. 80th anniversary looks good too but I never actually saw one of those in real life. Do they really make knockoffs of worthy cap? I bet they suck.

As someone who has enjoyed the MCU, is anyone else looking forward to this bombing? Everything I've seen and heard from these costume and character designs, to script leaks nothing about this looks good. It all sounds bad. The only thing I'm slightly interested in is Black Knight, but I doubt he's in it much if at all AS the Black Knight. I do kind of hope we get a scene with Kit Harrington being given the Ebony Blade and he says "I don't want it". It's so fucking stupid and obvious that I'd be surprised if they didn't do it.

For some reason I really wish they tried a little harder with the AIM Troopers. Something about these guys just felt meh to me. The heads are great, but the rest of the figure feels like its not quite right. Probably doesn't help that I've always preferred some of the more modern designs of the AIM trooper where they are just kind of wearing jumpsuits.

I mean, I only got the former for Minn-Erva and I got the jacket version for Carol because I doubt we'll get that version again. I'm hoping for the Endgame suit personally but I guess they felt like they oversaturated the market a bit so they skipped her in the endgame waves.

I'm debating whether skipping the semi-transparent binary version was a mistake since I'm starting to doubt we'll get another one like that too.

They're all dirt cheap, so you might as well scoop up the Binary one, it's the most visually interesting. I liked the jacket look as well, but the figure itself did not satisfy me, the headsculpt was just awful

Also, the Shang Chi wave has been confirmed to have Mr. Hyde as a BAF and to include Shang Chi, Death Dealer, Wenwu, and Meng’er Zhang, all characters from the movie. Additionally, the Disney + wave includes Winter Soldier, a black USAgent/ John Walker Cap, and what appears to be Captain America-Falcon’s wings as the BAF, presumably for a Cap Falcon figure also in the wave. Loki is rumored. I haven’t included any of this because I like to use promo photos and we currently don’t have any so I’ve filled in what I can. Lastly, I forgot to include the Walmart exclusive John Walker Cap that’s coming out at some point.

Keep in mind it's the sentinel, two tentacles, 3 alternate heads, one alternate hand, and two 6" prime sentinel figures, male and female (with alternate Bastion head for the male).

Having said that, it does look like an enlarged artwork prototype of the box.

Thats part of the problem with the mixed Waves. The MCU get unique sculpts for a lot of there figures, some of which are one time uses, and the comics get relegated to the outdated as fuck Buckycap mold over and over again. Then they make the BaF a totally or mostly unique sculpt Comic character that a lot of people have wanted for a long time, and you have to get 3-4 MCU figures you could not give a shit about and don't have or want to make a display for.

There should just be Comic Waves and MCU waves. Its just easier for everyone.
