>>8934273I ran out of space. Here’s the continuation of the Greg thing, and there are probably typos in this and the previous thing, so yeah:
Like, Greg had some decent stories, in the past, but he had an awful tendency to take things too far or not far enough, rarely finding a good middle ground that early G1 was usually known for. Where it was just enough to keep you going and still just enough to keep you guessing. Now Greg’s just practically pleading to still be relevant nowadays.
As for the serials, they were, well, interesting, and some of them okay, some of them just being pointless. But as for the ending serials that ended off on cliff hangers, Greg should’ve just finished them off as best he could as quickly as he could (so fan favorites weren’t just left in perilous situations with no resolution), or just said “sorry, I’m not being paid to write the stories any more, so I won’t mess with them” and let G1 end semi-gracefully, with all the big-name players still in the play (as The Mata Nui Saga tried to imply to make it end on a better note). If I remember right, Greg didn’t even make it through half a year of the after-cancelation serials.
I suppose it was nice that he tried to do something, but after a look back, it seemed as though he was trying to make Bionicle “his”, when it never really was his to begin with. And I think he’s still trying to do that now by “canonizing” things that didn’t even need it.
