I only had the McDonalds product line of these little creatures, as a child I always wished to have the actual Zizzles those had more of an "life" to them with all the custom features. Even now, I still wish I had one.
The black ones always looked very threatening / mysterious. I liked that.

My middle school had a cult formed around these things.
The teachers would ban them and my friends thought it was funny so we got some and joined in the fad.

How did they generate new music in WZIZ FM mode?
Was it some sort of procedural generation algorithm?

If so, these were very ahead of their time.

Me and my Uncle drove around the state of Georgia looking for the full set of McDonalds iZ's. Hours and hours of driving to different Mickey D's and asking the poor, poor bastard working the counter "yeah uh... do you guys have.. the orange and purple one..?". I will never forget my uncle just going "which colors do you have?" and the counter guy going "uhh. we got ernge.." and my Uncle going "what the fuck is ernge?". I was like 4.
