>>8938611As stated, the original reason for the KS was because retailers weren't going to carry something like this, but it did work in drumming up interest, it showed there was demand for Spawn. Todd mentioned he was getting more calls for his movie than before, and we're getting a retail Spawn line again (if you're unaware, beyond the Mandarin Spawn that's showing up, deluxe Mandarin Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, Redeemer, Raven Spawn, deluxe Clown, and Mega Fig Violator are what's been leaked out), and due to the unusually high sales of the comic they're able to add further titles to Spawn's universe.
And the KS stuff will continue because the first was such a big success, and will continue to be projects that couldn't be sold at retail (the metal Medieval Spawn being the next project).
