While you people enjoy the new shit, my local store's stuck with these Bone Shakers from last year, the Mustangs & Matchbox Superfast models below the frame, and what new premiums been restocked are just the F&F ones.

Apparently, there was a small set of trucks which got sold out.

Found some nice ones today, on top of coming home to a few in the mail that looked pretty minty. Was able to find the Impala and Ford Pickup for the 53rd Anniversary series.

I bought Majorettes from their official shop online. pricey with the shipping from germany though. ($60.00 in total with delivery/taxes), I did buy 8 items (7 being singles, 1 being a 3 pack, so 10 cars in total), and I gotta say, I wish the US sold every product from them again. I was unaware they were at toys r us before they shut down (I stopped collecting from 2015-2019), and I'm not a rubber wheels guy so I don't care for the ones sold at Target right now, Premium/Street Cars is my go to with the regular wheels.

Matchbox is still my favorite diecast brand though, but some of the tampo details is very nice and they're very firm and most have nice paint (Suzuki Jimny is a model I wanted because Suzuki diecasts are rare but it's sadly my least favorite paint, feels less real). Wheels move fine, not the fastest though, but I'm overall happy and want to buy more Majorette online when I can.

IIRC, it was mostly due to their cheaper quality and the fact they haven't dipped back into the military and licensed pop culture sets that previously earned them acclaim.

If you want those hard banks they used to have at Toys R Us, I don't think you can find them individually anymore. I've only seen them in that Throwback set based on the 2000's take of an oval track.
If you meant flat turns, I believe those might be a Target exclusive, that or some online bullshit I ain't willing to spend.

The issue with 40 bucks is the scalpers and the fact that they were a Toys R Us exclusive, I'm glad I got some before they closed.
I just hate how they prefer the flat turns more these days, despite the fact that banks are infinitely better for track cars in general.
You have to be slow and small to make it though a flat turn, you don't have that with a bank.

Saw these at Walmart. Didn't buy them because they looked like crap with an unrecognizable brand ("Adventure Force"). Luckily, Matchbox came through and I bought a Ford F-150 utility truck, making it my first Matchbox purchase in a few decades.

I haven't opened yet, though, 25 years ago I would've been clawing at the back of the package to get to the car inside before the car even left the parking lot.

As for diecast, there is a very, very low theft rate, and what is stolen is made up for in sales from the rest that are purchased. Trust that Walmart isn't losing money on a few $1 Hotwheels cars being five-finger discounted. Besides, they have bigger fish to fry when it comes to theft.

Depends on the model.
I like that new truck but my chances of getting it are probably astronomically low.
I will say one of the few times they do it right was with the 05-06 X-Raycer models.
Either being some take on a Tooned' casting or just using the idea of a see-through car for simple yet visually pleasing fantasy models.
Nowadays they just slap anything transparent and half the time it's either electric junk or it's not very charming.

Same shit goes for Super Chromes, cool idea but hyper gawdy on average. Like look at pic related, I hate the windshield being chrome with the body, like if they were gonna cheap out and make it the same as the body, could they have atleast thought to use it in the X-Raycers instead? It's also like when they make windows metal like the body, it's cheap and looks tacky with a side of unappealing.

Haven't collected diecast in ~6 years. But damn these new casts, R390, 500E, 22B, EB110, 720s... Looks like I'm getting back into collecting again. Back then I was pretty much just a kid and couldn't drive myself so never got to go somewhere for the express purpose of buying cars. So does anyone have any baseline tips for timing shipments etc?

Pic is some cars from my collection, which is probably ~1k cars total, I can post more pics / blogpost about it if anyone wants. Featuring the only super I've ever found in the wild, plus my newest car, the 33 Stradale.
