Why do people talk about using hot glue on their figures so much?
If you break them there's way better ways of dealing with it than hot glue.

Hot glue is a reference to a certain type of bodily fluid on figures. As this is a blue board (meaning safe aka no sexual content) we do not allow "hot glue."

If you are referencing actual hot glue, as in the adhesive kind, its not good for figures, because it can get messy. Gorilla glue works fine. Beware of locking up joints. If you break a joint, it might be best to get a replacement

when doing custom work hot glue is a good place holder for the base
you need a good base to hold while painting so using hot glue is good because it gives you an option to easily remove it from the temp base. clip or superglue would damage the figure

If you're dealing with translucent plastics, be aware that the fumes that come from cyanoacrylate based glues like Superglue and Gorilla glue can fog the plastic. I personally recommend UV resin in that situation. (Not the as-seen-on-TV repair pen with the cheapass single UV led, you'll be trying to cure that shit forever. Get a decent UV hand light.)
