Fuck Austin (the owner) and his shitty condescending entitled attitude. I genuinely feel for small businesses in my area (i'm also in Toronto) getting hit hard by covid. I sympathize with small business owners that have to shut down because of this. That said, i'm so fucking glad that NMC is in over their heads. I don't know who at BBTS rekt so many people here but I have had absolutely no problem with them at all for years. I always get my stuff within a week and for imports it's around the same price with all the shipping and taxes if I were to order them from overseas retailers.
Obviously they get stuff late sometimes but that's the only thing wrong with them.

Well that's just it. He can't flat out say "give us a good review" but you can be damn sure if it's anything less than a 4*, he'll likely write you a multi paragraph email about how you're wrong for doing that, let alone send you a coupon

He had to start this promotion because he had so many bad reviews. I actually checked the google reviews earlier this month and was wondering why so many were positive. Now i know why and it's funny and sad at the same time. Literally every other place to review NMC trashes them. And the owner responds to almost every bad review with paragraphs upon paragraphs of why he's right and they're wrong.

He can't ship his shit out on time because he's too busy using work hours to type long winded excuses to every bad review

It's fine for some people and shit for others, like most things.

The last 2 times I ordered from there, I paid for priority shipping and they proceeded to wait 2 weeks to send my package. Sure, people say that it would have taken longer if I had gottwn different shipping, but the point is that it shouldn't take 2 weeks to get my shit out.

They have also not upheld pre-order prices on a number of items, bumping the price up and saying "if you dont like it, you can cancel".

So I don't use them anymore.

Yeah I noticed their website gives a security risk warning now. Ive only had a couple experiences and they were good, one a bit slow and had to chase them down for. Havent dealt with them for awhile.
Last got a response from them in december trying to find out what Storm collectibles they had but havent heard back since.

I've been to NMC once physically like in 2019. They had something in stock that wasn't available locally so I gave it a shot. I don't know much about the place but I'm assuming the guy I interacted with was the owner. Had a decent experience but it was pretty unorganized, I can see why shipping would be a nightmare if its just one dude doing everything. If you're not local I'd probably just buy like anywhere else online.

I made the mistake of trying to purchase a Mezco Pop-eye there once, the day after I made a pre-order, he put up a discount coupon that applied to everything besides current orders, so I asked him to cancel my order so I could order again with the coupon. He made a huge fuss about it and refused to do it saying it wouldn't do it because it would be "special treatment". Ended up refunding the order and I steered clear afterwards.

Later when I saw a thread asking for opinions on NMC(on R*ddit) I brought up my experience and he found my post and wrote a paragraph about how he doesn't bow down to unreasonable customers and told everyone how I was a massive cheapskate for caring about the 10% price difference the coupon would have made on a $90+ figure.

I bought a AY Gwen through MyKombini's ebay store and it came with 2 right legs. They refused to do anything about it until I got ebay/paypal involved, and then they banned me from thier store.

Yeah, Amiami was really good to me when it came to defective figures (which, sadly, happened more often than I'd like). They shipped several replacement parts with no issue. The only time I had a problem was with a figure missing paint, but I cleared it up pretty quickly and they sent me the part a while later.

Depends really, I don't think any site had a 100% clean record.
But that is a pretty shiftty experience though, I've only order from MyKombini once in the past (for a Kamen Rider Figuarts I believe) and everything went fine then.
I mostly prefer to use amiami for imports though because like other anons said above they're really helpful when defects happen.

Only actual scam retailer I’ve had experience with was DarkSideToys (not DorkSideToys). Had preorders there that didn’t ship long after they were out, they wouldn’t respond to emails, and finally they took their site down. I was able to get all my money back even though the PayPal protection time had run out on all but one of my preorders because I used that one to request all my money back and the owner didn’t bother to respond to PayPal either.

Kirin Hobby; I preordered something from there years back that was sold out everywhere else. They wanted payment up front for it, which isn't unusual for a pricy item. They kept pushing the release date back, which I emailed them about and they said their shipment was on 2 ships, so the other half would come later.

Several months had passed at this point, and I look into some reviews (yeah, should have done this in the first place). It was mostly people saying they never got their orders. I emailed again asking for a cancellation. No reply this time. Tried to call the number listed, no answer.

I ended up just taking the loss and finding the figure on Madarake. I should have done my research, especially when they wanted the money up front, but I wouldn't trust them even if it said something was in stock now.

I can only speak for myself, but I've had various Masters of the Universe Origins figures pre-ordered for months, and it's as if they don't exist. We're talking figures that were on store shelves last year. It almost certainly isn't actually BBTS's fault but your guess is as good as mine as to why Mattel refuses to stock them, or why they don't explain what's going on.

Otherwise, the only thing BBTS does that sucks is ship through Fedex, who are bad because they can't make up their minds whether you need to sign for their packages or not, and will choose the option that inconveniences you on delivery day.

Nin Nin Game is the absolute worst place I have ever purchased something from. Was looking for a figure that I was having a little trouble finding, and their website said they had it IN STOCK. Purchase the item, and about a week goes by and no shipping notice. This was pre-coof mind you. I send them an e-mail asking about the status of my order. Their response "Oh sorry the item is actually out of stock. Respond to this e-mail and let us know if you want a refund or store credit." Obviously I want a refund, so I reply to their e-mail telling them my choice. Two weeks go by and still no refund. I sent them a few e-mails asking them what was going on and received no response. Thankfully I used Paypal, filed a dispute, got my money back. Nin Nin Game is trash. Please avoid.
