I don't follow SW, but did the Figuarts just stop selling or what? I know the Disney stuff sans Mandalorian was a bomb in general since people stopped liking those films, but what about the original stuff/prequels?

SHF and Damashii and really any bandai line will produce prototypes like nobody else and then cancel them without notice. There are dozens and dozens of really sick toys for both lines that just disappeared because of various reasons. I always assume it's because shit didn't sell out preorders and they ran on razor thin profit lines back then. Like SHF and Damashii are expensive as shit nowadays, but in 2014 they were both floating around $40 tops.

Yup, still sad about this one. Love my Raynor, Tyrael and Sylvannas, would have loved to get a Diablo. Even with the moba not lighting the world on fire, a NECA line of Blizzard characters seemed like it should have been a slam dunk.

I remember I was playing the game quite a bit when these were coming out, I made it a point to get good with all the characters that were getting figures. I ended up having to fill in ranked matches a lot so I got used to playing Brightwing support and Tyrael tank and got myself to Diamond with them. Really sad we never got that Brightwing and Murky 2-pack, Diablo, and anything else that would come.

The Overwatch toylines didn't work because they were all too late. Do you know about figma's problem with producing figures of characters way after a show is over? Blizzard has the same problem multiplied by their sizeable casts. If you look at Overwatch as an example, most toylines produced characters one at a time and they only started coming out when interest in the game was sunsetting. In fact, if you wanted any merchandise at the height of the game's popularity your options were shirts, the handful of cute but deadly minifigures, and that Chinese Widowmaker along with all the trinkets only Beijing bootleggers were cooking up.

They didn't cancel them. They weren't intended for release in the first place. They make them for their shows because they're "art" or whatever.
