>>8962680>Can someone give me a TLDR about ThreeZero and ThreeA?Sure anon.
- ThreeZero launched pretty much in 2000, founded by Kim Fung Wong, in Hong Kong.
- They started with high-end 12" military collector's figures, with metal weapons.
- Later, they expande a bit to include other figures and then got involved with the vinyl market.
- Because he moved in designer circles, Kim knew about artist Ashley Wood and loved his designs. Ashley wanted to make figures of his art and Kim wanted to sell them.
- So, in 2008 ThreeA was formed as a subsidiary to sell figures based on Ashley's work.
- ThreeA were responsible for a really big chunk of ThreeZero sales at this time.
- In 2013 ThreeZero started taking on licensed properties like Marvel and Transformers foas a large part of their production. This meant that Kim became less reliant on ThreeA sales.
- Good thing too, because by 2015 Ashley Wood started losing the plot and began making more fetishised female figures instead of his PA killers and giant murderbots. But Kim trusted Ashley was a fan of his work and allowed for creative freedom.
- by 2018 Ashley had gone off the rails completely, missing deadlines and producing severed plastic foot fetish pieces in place of really cool toys.
- So, Kim had to dump his sorry ass and Ashley went on to form Underverse.
- ThreeZero continued to make cool toys, but all are licensed now and there are no more original figures.
- The End.
