My Walmart used to be great as a high shrink store. Every Tuesday and Friday for years they'd bring anything new. Some weeks it doesn't happen but it was a reliable schedule. The dept manager was consistent and proud of her job. Never directly gave me insider info as I never bothered to ask but I knew when to go, was always that chance to nab something first. Managed to get some new Black Series, Tech Deck, Mega Construx and Fortnite shit that way.
And then, it stopped. Entire store was revamped under new management mid-2020, including an all new toy dept manager...well managers. Never seen them together but they exemplify the stereotypical grumpy 'wish-I-was-elsewhere' WM employee attitude. And since then, the shelves have shown that apathy. Nowadays it's truly random, can go between weeks to months before something new shows up. But all I've seen now is the occasional new Black Series, Marvel Legends or Lego. Anything else is either old stock, stock that should've been up last season, or all empty. It's why I haven't shopped there since January.
