Ugh, idk. I basically just need them to crank out Wet Suit, Storm Shadow, Baroness, and the twins, and then I’d be okay with it dying. Although in terms of what you get in each box, it’s easily Hasbro’s best line. Don’t really understand how they’re fucking it up this badly by making mainstream characters so fucking hard to get.

Ive got all of wave 1, wave 2 (royal Cobra Commander), Pimp Destro, and I was lucky enough to get Beach Head, Firefly, and a Viper. Have cobra soldier, zartan, Lady Jaye, and Flint on preorder. And I want Major Bludd really badly too.

Still holding out hope for some cobra island repaints of course, but I also really want Storm Shadow, the twins, Alley Viper, and a proper BAT.

I think Baroness is available on some international websites. Give it a try, might be cheaper than getting one from a scalper. I'm hyped from Bludd as well. Always liked the character and the classified version is looking baller

I went to the Dollar Tree in my town yesterday, to pick up some stuff, and I briefly looked to see if they had those little statuettes, and they didn’t, sadly.

However, I did find some actual legitimate movies there this time around. Sometimes Dollar Tree has a few gold nuggets in their movie “section”. I found some animated DC movies from various years, as well as a few other things.

Yeah, it's from the Thunderbolts sets and that in its self depends on how your comics shop does toys, mine has loose figures. They had that particular crossbones for sale with his gun twice. Little armory has a gun that might work too.

For 6in stuff, I usually aim for three, two generics and a team leader. For smaller scale, I can go a bit overboard but still try to keep it to around 4 for basic units.

I used to like having three, but I realized I always wanted a main character leading the troops, and the third was always throwing off the symmetry of a display or cluttering the photo. Four is simply too much, so I stick to two.

Yeah, Dollar Tree has some pretty nice stuff at times, especially with utensils and every day stuff.

The movies were Batman Unlimted: Animal Instinct, Batman and Harley Quinn, and Teen Titans: Fear Itself. I also got Kung Fu Panda 2 and Two Angry Beavers (it was a four disc set of seasons 1 and 2).

They had some other good/goodish/brand-noticeable movies/shows, but I didn’t get them, leaving some stuff for some other poor boys like myself. The other stuff I left for others were some Scooby Doo stuff, Digimon stuff, and a few other things like that I didn’t remember. They had Fast and Furuous movies, but I’m not into those.

What I do is buy a rare, bundle the shitty common with it and list it on ebay for 5 more than what the rare goes for. I get my money back and the buyer doesnt feel as fucked, getting 2 figures for what everyone else is paying for 1.

Ninja Force was basically Snake Eyes' crew, along with Storm Shadow. It's a cool idea, but it strays so far from GI Joe that it gets a little comical. With that said, they can always be ignored when they're not the center of attention in a line.

Yeah, I agree that Storm Shadow was one dimensional in that, and even in the behind-the-scenes stuff, the makers of it said that, if they were given more time to work with (because, originally, it was a series of online shorts that were later edited together) they would’ve made the characters more meaningful. And that they had to pretty much file the characters down into their basic traits, and, from the layman’s perspective, Storm Shadow is just Snake-Eyes archenemy.

They kind of had to boil all the characters down, to put it simply, since they didn’t have a season or an hour and a half or more to work with, and they wanted to put in as many fan favorites as they could/with what characters they were allowed to fully use and work with.

The Resolute one needed to be cut down as it's taller (like the RoC Reactive Armor scarlett's would be). But shorter necks like the Renegades, RoC blue Scarlett (that the SDCC one on the right shares a body with) are fine.

Regardless I gave them all surgery to use Boss Fight Studio's female figure double bar Ball joints pieces. What a drill.

Has Kamakura always just been a kid SE picked up? Haven't seen all of Sigma 6, but the impression I got from Kamakura was comically incompetent. Thought I remembered something from old filecards mentioning he was previously in a branch of the army before SE grabbed him, but I couldn't find it.

Kamakura was from the Devil's Due Joe comics, he was Sean Collins, a kid from the original Marvel comics, grown up and training as Snake Eyes' apprentice. There was a mini telling his origin of how he joined the army, and after Firefly killed the rest of his unit, he trained as a ninja under Snake Eyes, whose first apprentice was also killed by Firefly. Hasbro liked him enough to make several toys, and put him in Sigma 6 as well.

In Hama's continuation of the comics, Collins becomes the new Snake Eyes instead of becoming Kamakura.

Couldn’t that be said for a lot of G.I. Joe and Cobra characters? Like, in some media, Cobra is depicted as being borderline incompetent as an organization that has to resort to childish gimmicks to get anything remotely done. And main members of Cobra and the Joes being kept under lockdown by a guy who has an obsession with toys, and Baroness was in a bikini for some reason.

And playing some version of football for whatever reason.

And being defeated by monkeys/gorillas/apes.

A number of them are being scalped for $30 to $50+. The Scarlett seems to be the most sought after. The Lady Jaye's also a good one, since it's a face printing update of the 50th, which had really wonky eyes. And the Destro's also got some updated paint apps.

The only real awful useless figure is the new Duke.

Also, Major Bludd first appeared in 1983.

A version of Major Bludd was released as part of the Super Sonic Fighters line in 1991. Another version of Major Bludd was released in 1994 as part of the Battle Corps line. The 2000 figure is a repaint of his Sonic Fighters uniform mostly brown, black, and silver in some parts. The 2003 figure uses the 94 head and another figure mold in the Python Patrol color scheme. The 2005 JvC/ST/VvV update uses the Blackout mold, Firefly arms, and a new head w/ removable helmet. The 2006 version is part of the 2006 Joe Con Mercenaries set. The first 25th/Modern Era Bludd figure uses the first 25th Zartan mold, the right arm that is reminiscent of the V1 figure. Later Modern-Era versions have him in his true V1 mold and a cartoon version.

Now I have said more words than you will ever about JOes since it's apparent your here for some Dumpf loser wank. Cobra Commander loses less than that loser and he looks a lot better.

At first when several new versions of Snake Eyes appeared, and it looked like Hama was doing a ninja homage to the Reign of the Supermen, I was interested, but the book has been spinning it's wheels without really getting anywhere, and Hama seems really committed to Snake Eyes and Serpentor being really dead this time.

Some of the new characters do seem to be an attempt at reaching a female audience, no idea if it's working, but he's doing it again with the next story arc.

I think the obvious answer is that whoever's in charge of the line just lazily repacked and repainted the most recently used versions of certain characters. The most recent version of Cobra Commander was the Hascon version, which the Retro Figure essentially is, therefore only comes with the pistol. It should have been a re-pop of Ultimate Cobra Commander with 50th's accessories.

I'm not sure why Hasbro is repopping only from these recent molds, is there a company mandate? Did they not save the old molds like they did with Star Wars? I know there was mention by them of destroying them a few years back on the basis of it being really easy to remake them if they so wished.

Because they’re small, the right size for cheap little desk knickknacks, they’re cheap (you could buy the whole set for less than the price of whatever they’re naming the 3.75 series now), and probably very easy to clean, and if they get knocked over, yo how iOS rings have y I spend time posing them again or having to force them in a standing position that looks okay. Plus I have no reason to buy any of the Classified series, because Classified is overly expensive, and I wouldn’t actually play with them, they’d just end up gathering dust or in some storage bin.

The latest GI Joe product I actually bought was the newest game, GI Joe: Operation Blackout, because I can actually play with that, and it’s big like it takes up space (besides digital) and doesn’t collect dust, and I got the Digital Dekuxe version for a price cheaper than most Classified series toys.

You might as well get both. Classified version is available now and only $20 and he's not a bad figure by any stretch. Mezco will take forever to release a core set of characters and this way you can at least substitute out the Classified versions as Mezco's come out if you want.

Pic related was the era I finally got to pick out my own Joes in a store after being teased with hand-me-downs for the first 5-6 years of my life. Besides the Street Fighter figs, but I don't remember that much at all.

I've always wanted vehicles to come with enough figures for all the seats. Imagine if every vehicle came with the driver but also a trooper or Viper, or Steel Brigade for Joe vehicles. Fuck, they could throw almost any random factory extras in with their vehicles, and that shit might not rot on the shelves like it does. I think making vehicles a little more expensive but including more figures would work out better for everyone overall, but perhaps I'm stupid.

The sub figures and possibly some of their unique molds were licensed exclusively to the club I think. My wording might not be exactly right, but those figures may be legally iffy for Hasbro to reproduce. Not that it should matter, but that's what the reason would be. Which is a shame, even though I have that club Slice, I wanna see him in neon orange still.

Heating the elbow did jack shit, just sliced through one side of each peg and pulled the elbow off. Looked like a goddamn Lego technic gear, fit together so snugly, I don't know how the other one is moving fine. Smoothed down the teeth a little and it still wouldn't budge, so I smoothed them down almost entirely. A little loose now and I haven't resecured the pin to the other side of the arm, but it worse I guess. First pinless figure I've gotten, and if they're all gonna have similar problems, I don't like it
