>>8969257Ahh, thank you. You've put some like and emphasis on stuff I've overlooked in his bios, despite reading them numerous times (generally a neat thing to go over before potential purchases!). He's well-liked and personable (and even respected by his enemies) and yeah there's that underused trait of good driving, not quite sure why that's never used. But you've described it pretty charmingly.
I think the only real hurdle is "another sports car", since I just always found racing boring since a kid..? Being speedy is exciting, sure, but I'm only vaguely warming up to racing now (and I would more if Wheeljack could roll properly!)
I liked him a lot in G1, Geewun Redone/SOS Wheeljack, as well as IDW, so I certainly don't HATE him, but.. he seemed to just fill "scientist" role despite being immensely charming and memorable from G1. Even Ratchet I love a bit more because of Marvel. Guess I should maybe rewatch G1?
>based on the wrenches his Generations toy came withHm, was there no further basis?
>doubled as other weaponsThat's pretty neat. Er, tangential but how does he handle/play in Devastation? Apparently Sideswipe was second-favourite for many, I liked everyone except "I can't grapple for shit, tapping to run is bothersome, as is having to change back every time I do an altmode attack" Grimlock, and Wheeljack whom for whatever reason I didn't give much of a chance. It MIGHT have been because you had to sort of cover him several times while he was repairing something. But his cries for help were charming. I don't know. He's in a weird "love him but not enough to get his toy" position, and despite that I hunted down his Earthrise toy for whatever reason. I like the character, but not really with any passion, I don't really get it. He's a caring mentor to Gears in the current comics, maybe that'll make me like him more actively. I've saved your post to sort of re-read for any Wheeljack moods, thank you. He's a good bot and I'm glad he's getting a lot of love.
