The old mattel reptars arent articulated but theyre cute. It's somewhat of a coincidence to see someone bring up reptar as he's been on my mind for the last few days. I guess my recent kaiju binge is to blame, but I've always wondered what nick could have done with the character if toho never threatened to sue. Like Mermaid Man and the Crimson Chin, I've always wanted to see a solo series starring reptar. I found myself drawing art revolving around the idea yesterday, and ended up with a bizarre "shin reptar" concept where in reptar attains super intellegence and strives to become something akin to or greater than humanity by forcing his own dna to mutate. Autistic I know, but I wanted to mention it as it's been on my mind for days.

Likewise I was looking over singular point jet jaguar's design and felt it was more suitable for something out of the godzilla the series universe, namely a giant robot version of nigel sufficing as that universe's equivalent to jaguar. They saw enough of a resemblance to consider reptar a threat. Which is assumably why they dont do much with him beyond merchandising at this point. From the website Showcase Daikaiju. It looks like they also listed a Megalon figure too. I'm not sure how legit they are (never used them before), but they do seem to list lots of Japanese MMS merchandise. I'm guessing there's credibility to these, especially with Jet Jaguar coming out this summer.

Looking at that tail reminds me why I decided against collecting kaiju vinyls, so many of them have unwieldy long tails and would require very deep shelves to display facing forward. How do you guys deal with this and what kaiju figure has the most ridiculous and extreme tail size/length?

If not that Shin in my pic then probably my X-Plus 2019 or 2002. Honestly you just kinda just do what you said: get a nice big shelf and make it a centerpiece. I plan to get some wall shelves at some point to hang up and make better use of space that way.

Finally found a good price for this guy. Will I be disappointed in him for ~$25? I'm never sure about vinyl until I have them in hand.

What about the Singular Point vinyls? Theyre not too bad on ebay and I was considering getting like aqualitus while the getting is still good. Anguirus is cool too and cheap.

From the reviews I've seen online, the sculpt is decent. The lack of paint and choice of translucent yellow doesn't bring out that sculpt fully though. I think they did okay job considering what he looks like in the movie (being mostly made of electricity/plasma).
