So... You're in a cycle of "want toy, buy toy, enjoy toy, feel hollow, want toy"?

I had a similar feeling, usually when I start to look at the boxes. I don't have much toys that I have to 'rotate displays', but that's because I don't have to.

I do this every 2-3 months or so. I take a look of my shelf and sell off the ones I've pretty much outgrown. I don't have a problem selling them, since I've enjoyed them already and I either don't much care how much I sell them for (usually $10-15 lower than I bought them for) or they're sought out anyway that I make back the money I used anyway.

you should have set a rule for yourself. I collect specifically characters that I are my favorite from a series and not others even if they have a great design.

You either don't enjoy collecting anymore, or you're collecting for the wrong reasons. I would first suggest a break from the hobby entirely, cut off from news and forums, for a few weeks at least. If you forget about collecting, great, you've moved on. If you still have a strong desire to buy toys, you need to think about why you buy what you buy. I've had strong desires to own stuff that have dissipated within an hour of owning it, then stuff I've bought on a whim years ago that I still cherish a lot. Willingness to sell is a huge part of making up for those misread feelings, and will help you learn as well
