>>9001536As a long time Nerf fan, Rival Rounds are FAR better ammo then darts, especially the standard nerf darts (literally the worst darts on the market). There also was a single release if Reaper's gun, and it's one of the better blasters of the line. The only thing really wrong with the Reaper gun is that it's not actually a shotgun, though you can double load it with the jam release lever. It could've also have used an auto return spring on the prime lever.
D.Va's gun was also pretty great, the closest one to being competitive as a side arm, though for the size of the shell, it should've been able to hold at least two more rounds.
The rest of the line was just awful though, Tracer's gun is stupid huge for a three round blaster. It should've been a semi-auto flywheel blaster as the
D.Va blaster is just as good at half the size.
Soldier 76's rifle is just ridiculous, stupid huge, stupid expensive, stupid uncomfortable to use and worst of all, it doesn't even have a missile launcher. The stupid reciprocating gimmick and low ammo capacity just made it that much worse.
However, the worst of all the OW Nerf guns is easily McCree's. I can understand why they didn't make it an actual hammer action blaster, Rival springs are pretty heavy and a hammer wouldn't be comfortable to use. But there was *no* reason to not give it a rotating chamber so it could actually be a multi-shot revolver. If it had a decent ammo capacity, it could have been a fantastic blaster, but as is, it's a literal single shot hunk of junk. But at least the badge was nice.
Overall, the problem with the OW nerf guns is the same problem most licensed blasters have, focus on form and gimmick over actual performance. The worst part is that with just a few minor tweaks, all of em *could* have been fantastic.
