>>8990366YMSF makes good stuff that’s comparable to Bandai but just be willing to wait potentially years for a figure the guy shows off (it’s one guy modeling and selling the figures)
Playmates is cheap and shitty but I’d say they /occasionally/ have decent figures.
Trendmasters was an old company in the 90s that has since gone under but their stuff is quality and still holds up. You can probably find their 1998 Zilla stuff in flea markets. Their mainline Godzilla stuff is pretty good, especially if you’re into that 90s goofy-cool factor like TMNT
CAST (I think their other name is Kamakura, but don’t quote me on that) makes little ornmants of kaiju or diaromas of scenes from the movies. They only make them in limited quantities in Japan, and can be pretty pricey, but if you see one you want to splurge on, pre order it because resale prices can be outrageous.
Marmit/Gigabrain/Samusan(?) make smaller, more cartoony, and more colorful figures that have basic articulation. It’s not for everyone but they do go for a pretty penny.
Mezco just revealed their Godzilla line of 4-5 inch figures of most of the Kaiju from Destroy All Monsters. Pre orders are up.
Super7 announced they have the Toho license. We haven’t seen anything yet but they’re releasing a figure this summer and then next year we’ll see a lot more stuff that they’re comparing to SHMA. They’re also saying they’re going to be making a figure of every Godzilla kaiju, but we’ll have to see how that turns out/how they look
The Jakks stuff from KOTM are still pretty cheap right now and not too bad looking, just smaller.
Those are the ones that I’m remembering for right now, but if I remember any more I’ll post them. Welcome to the plastic lizard addiction
