Does anyone have any rec's for a decent 5x5?
I have the Senghou Legend, but I want something a bit faster, ideally with magnets.

Most recently picked up a ghost cube, it's just a 3x3 but man, it gets hard to keep track of what goes where. A few sections are way too similar unless you look at them carefully.

I haven't bothered timing it, I'm too inconsistent. With the weird slopes and angles, it's hard for me to get consistent quick turns. I go to push one layer and a completely different one starts turning. Also, it's easy for me to get mixed up on it in the middle of executing an algorithm and find I've fucked something up. I have to have a standard cube nearby to pick up and help me visualize what the ghost actually is.

I mean, if you've never handled a ghost cube it's really weird. In theory it's just a 3x3, but it's like it doesn't naturally want to turn in the same way a basic cube does.

i got the pictured 2x2-3x3 set, but there are other sets on amazon too. i can barely wrap my head around the 3x3, i'm not yet even considering going up a size yet

You can absolutely do bigger my dude.
Bigger cubes are usually done by making centres, then edges, then you solve like a 3x3.
It don't get harder, it just lets you plan out more.

I'm pretty dang impressed with how much better square ones have gotten. The last one I had was the ShengShou one, but within the last couple months got the new Yuxin one. I already loved the puzzle, but because it now it doesn't lock up I love it even more. I should just bend the knee and learn the parity alg instead of doing the long hand way of solving it.

I know this is an old post and you may have gotten it already, but I've got that one. I was honestly shocked with how well it performed since it's incredibly cheap. Only thing is there is a shit load of spring noise on every side.
Goes to show that all these 30+$ 3x3s are just a scam. Everyone I've seen talk about the RS3M2020 said it was on par or near par with the flagships.
As for the 5x5 you can't really go wrong with the YJ MGC line of puzzles.

Everyone says this, from 4-7 the MGC line is apparently the new hot thing, main worthy for many. Incredible considering the price.
