If you ever watch a channel like Ghostjerker or some of those old track videos from the early 2010's, you'd know people have always tried to do this. That was the whole point of Zoom In, so you could literally snap a camera to your car, then send it down the track recording whatever you wanted it to record.

Megaforce, Hotwheels had whole tie-in line in 80s
The movie was obviously a massive flop and it's known as one of the very few blockbusters with 0% at Rotten Tomatoes now. However there were still re-runs of some of these vehicles just with different painting.

Ain't my fault we don't like that Eurofag ass making 80% of our fantasy shit now.
2 decades ago almost every designer had at least 1 fantasy design. Now only like 3 out of 7 guys even fucking do fantasy designs, and most of them aren't even that great.
Sure I do like some of his work, but like most of the rest are just shit like Zoom In that have a gimmick that barely holds up because of previously mentioned reasons.
There will never be an era for HW like the 60's or early 2000's again.

If I was a designer, I'd made a super low riding fantasy style 6 wheeled, 4 smaller ones at the front, 2 large ones at the back, Ford Crown Victoria hot rod taxi with an oversized plane engine at the front, barely fitting in the motor compartment, with a propeller that is a separate freely spinning plastic piece as well to boot

Gaslands seems more friendly to that sort of thing compared to Dark Future. I tried to read Dark Future and then stopped when they tried to explain movement. Makes me feel sad it took fa/tg/uys almost 30 years to make a good spiritual successor to Dark Future.

that one has a really pretty colour, it also has a premium version that is coming with a more stock paintjob, if you are a really big fan of a car i'll also recommend the 1/18 scale 500 by maisto, its quality is very good for its price

1. If you opened them trash them. Blisters/cards are generally not worth anything. There are exceptions like certain RLC releases and vintage packages.
2. MiniGT are surprisingly robust. Many have rubber mirrors that are harder to break. They also roll very well.

Scale is 1:64~ish for cars. Military model kits in 1:72 are also usually close enough. Wargames miniatures that match are 20mm scale. And model railroad scale that is close is HO.

They don't have them hit the RPMs they used to. How do I know this?I compared a 69' booster to a 2009 booster. Older booster had so much kick the car comes out like a bullet and almost always gets some axle damage. Fun as hell though with the right setup.
Stopped getting them and instead converted to kickers, as those don't bend the axles up much.
If they bring kicker loops and ordinary kickers back I'm gonna see if I can snag some, I need more kickers.

Found one of my childhood favorites while helping my mom clean; '36 Ford Coupe with the flip-out rumble seat. I used to have a ton of '60s and '70s era redline Hot Wheels that I inherited from an older cousin and this one ended up gettting separated from them, probably because of how much I liked it.

Also found this die-cast Go-Bot, which is pretty rad. It's a shame there's no market for high-quality, diecast, 1/64 transforming robots because I'd gladly empty my wallet for them.

They're now marketed as "Creative Options Thread Organizers". You can get them at Joann's and Hobby Lobby in the thread sections. The exact same item was originally marketed as a 3" diecast storage case and called "Jammers", hence the name. They were available at Walmart, but this was more than a decade ago.

Back when I picked these up, I always thought the beat-up one was a salvage car and the pristine one was a finished restoration, but I was just reading on the hot wheels wiki that the complete car is actually the factory model, and the stripped-down, scuffed-up one is the same car many years later after countless accidents and mods.

I couldn't get a good pic of it, but there's even a dog molded into the backseat; it's a pup in the first car, and a full-grown beast in the second. Pretty cute touch. I wish more original Hot Wheels cars had their own lore.

Fantasy car wise? Not really, that's almost the one of a kind example. Shame since this is one of the very few good fantasy castings to come out of the 2010's post 2012.
Maybe try the Mild to Wild or Then & Now segments of the mainline, which doe similar things with IRL cars or the only 2 HW car families Mattel will ever use.

Because it's a retool from the 80's that has outstayed it's welcome.
It lacks the attention to detail stuff after it has had.
You don't even get god damn door lines on it.
Compare that to any Camaro casting from the 2000's and now. They are far better detailed and still keep the custom look in some way.

Yeah guess what? They are only on the premium versions now and mainline stuff was retooled again to not have the hood openning, so it's cute little classic gimmick is gone now, making it moot.

They literally retooled it in 2017. Models after than have no longer opening hood and the base is plastic now. It's now same as every other cheap hotwheels.

Side note - it became HW showcar.

1969 Dodge Charger, the one with opening hood, quite popular 2000s casting, also retooled to remove the hood. I don't see the point. Now it looks nearly identical to Dodge Charger 500. I'm glad I still have few of opening hood ones.

Johnny Lightning diecast is still around, but they are pushing the Auto World a lot more. By that I mean the Auto World lines get 8,000-17,000 produced where as Johnny Lightning gets 1,500 to 3,500. The Johnny Lightning are more "rare" in that fewer places sell them now. Their website is decent enough however. They are worth it!

There's a handful of noteable Cadillac race cars I'd love to see get castings, it's a shame no company has gotten around to it yet. When most people think "Cadillac", they go to low-riders and luxo-barges before race cars. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
