as for teh shotty, you could spend time looking or just try to make one out of those pla plate things with the tubes and some 2 part apoxie sculpt, I was working on one myself for another custom, I've just not gotten around to it.

Got him in today, holy shit this figure is bonkers. His pump shotguns actually pop the ejection port backwards too, holy shit. I don't think the suppressor comes off the matilda though, even though everything else does. I'm really happy with this fucker, excited to see how Hunk and the DEAGLE turn out when I get those in.

I know I've seen people sell parts (like the heads) for 1/6 figures, so can't I buy Sephiroth's head separately to place onto another base body?

So, Dam toys was called ekuaz before rebranding to dam, and then merged with another company to become damtoys, they're essentially a huge part of the 1/6th market. Anyway, as some internet sleuths found out, they basically take multiple licenses this way, legitimately and illegitimately. Looking at Hunk from Ekuaz, it was noted teh waeapons are all the same as Leon's and that the compnay involved was none other than ekuaz, there's liek a whole history lesson there, but essentially something is up with the capcom license, and it looks like they did this to get Hunk out rather than wait for capcom to okay him, or they couldn't get capcom to okay him, so they released him like this anyway through an unofficial channel.

Nah, they paid hottoys headsculpter to do a proto of Wonka's head. Then they didn't pay her. LIM are clearly running a legitimate business. Why would someone who's talented at creating figures need to scam people? Molecule8 was two business men who outsourced help and ran away with the money after half a year. Anyone who thinks it's comparable isn't familiar with the story.

Arthur is coming out, they're just taking an age and a half

Molecule8 only ever released one figure, which was Lennon. It got pretty poor reviews and the metal skeleton wasn't even what was advertised. That was as clear as a scam could be. LIM are based in china and have had to deal with chink flu. No reason to get worried.

Nobody knows for sure, but buzz around China reviewers is they think it might be the same people, no concrete proof though.

Shit what parts and is the belt shifting the glue on the hard velcro side? It's like mine didn't fully adhere. The guys I ordered with said they won't do a part exchange, but they will offer a full exchange, I just don't know if I want to deal with that hassle if all of them are like this, i just need to figure out how to fix the neck socket inside the head from coming out.

Get a few of these. Ten bucks a pop, solid metal, modular. You can stick then together through clips on the bottom. And they come with a variety of heads to grip, sit, hang, etc...And the bendy portion is really durable.

It's not 100% exact, anon. Not even among other official 1/6. Ex: in Star Wars, custom blaster from Rei is so fucking tiny. It's 1/6, but... it's not that god. On the other hand, 1/6 SW from Hasbro is ridiculous big.

In the end, try some 1/8 acessories from Kotobukiya and other jap companies.

Anybody still on the fence with Hunk here's some pictures in hand. As far as inaccuracies go there are a few:

>Camelback, and waist pouches should be olive drab
>velcro on the webgear above teh pouches should be black instead of yellow
>gun holster should be black instead of yellow
>helmet is missing on rivet
>gloves have one digit of padding extra on the index finger(likely a result of reusing and retooling Leon's hand sculpts)
>small straps used everywhere are slightly too small
>radio pouch is mirrored
>shape of the mask should be slightly more convex around the "cheekbones" and flatter on the nose

and that's it, other than that most of it is really accurate. Leon's much closer obviously, he's got two extra loops on his vest collarbones than he should, and maybe the holster and pant tuck is a bit off.

It's pretty nice surprisingly given the armor design, but luckily the plastic is soft. The only annoying thing is the little belt buckles that pin in have a habit of popping off and they are so small they'd be easy to lose.

More info on Hunk from one of the videos I found, apparently the pouches are incorrect in a different way than initially thought. They are olive drab instead of that weird mustard yellow he has. This is correct for his waist pouches and camelback, but not for his vest. He also lacks the proper synthetic holster of Leon. I don't think there's a yellow version of this gear available anywhere, so this is all you get, however it does make more of his gear accurate.

Overall, phone holster is still wrong, gloves are still slightly wrong, gun holster is wrong, and the webgear is wrong but all the pouches are correctly colored now.

I guess if you could fine a proper replacement helmet, holster, and webgear he'd be nearly 1:1. Also one of the guys used a modded head to get his helmet to sit right along with putting punched out white paper in his mask to make it look glowing.

Sucks. I know the moogle would barely make a decent figure given it's weird proportions, but it's such a big part of his presence. It just doesn't feel like Cait Sith without it.

Yep, it's a standard 1/6 buck with a padded "fat suit" and ankle extenders to bulk him up. It works decently, but I really wish they'd taken the time to give him a proper custom body. I understand that would be very expensive though, and Dorohedoro was even more niche at the time, so it makes sense.

Even a lot of the ones that DO have exposed skin only do nice sculpts/hidden joints up to where they absolutely need to, and the rest is ugly generic parts that are never intended to see the light of day.

You can do it on both figures, but not the new version of the guy you want, the blonde one. His old version the cloths come off easier, but the new one I think they might have been sewn shut

The manga version of blondie is probably better. But Dorohedora lizard man there is about the same either way. You can still swap his clothes I think but you need one to accommodate his suit, which isn't gonna be easy. Most other 1/6th figures are better with this.

To be fair I really dig how some 1000 toys reuse those android bodies. It's nice having style down to the frame. That's because almost all of 1000Toys' 1/6 releases have been Nihei's vision, and when you're calling the shots you can make your base body as cool or unique as you want. Ash didn't often do much that actually required modifying molds, running different colors and tattoos and etc. still use the same buck, and when he did give us robot parts, like GD and Peppermint Grove's hands, those were entirely separate parts that could be run off a different mold without affecting the standard buck. As for ThreeZero, Genos and Shin were kind of mandatory, since Genos is often shirtless and Shin's scars were important to his story.

Basically, point stands that companies only do the bare minimum of what they have to. New bucks, especially ones that will not get much reuse, are very expensive. I'm pretty sure Genos has normal 1/6 legs under his jeans and not mechanical ones, cause they only paid for new sculpting for the parts that were intended to be shown.

I got the 3D printer set up, so anyone needing any prints done hit me up. Naturally there'd be a nominal cost involved for material and shipping, but I wouldn't be charging to make money since I'm not producing and models myself (yet). Of course I'm assuming you would be providing the file needing to be printed.

Granted, I'm still learning best print methods. Started working on a custom 1/6 Corporal Dwayne Hicks and started modeling the armor. Found a pulse rifle model to test on. Not bad but definitely needs more work to maintain the details.

Who on earth asked for this? What a bizarre choice. And for a "definitive" version of this suit, I really would have liked a swappable red lens for the cyborg eye. I know it was green in the game, which this is based on, but in the original comic, the original toy, and the recent Marvel Legends update, the eye was red. The green just jumps out too much at me, it's distracting and kind of garish.

The one good thing I can say is that they got the stitched-together look in, and it seems to actually be sculpted/stitched texture.

I'm looking to buy an HT for my BDay and I'm torn. I've gotten back for about a year and playing catchup. I've got a list of what I want all around, across all licenses and everything. I intend to complete the Sith, but have too many POs already and both Maul & Dooku cost like half a grand. ATM I'm between War Punisher and Spider-Man 2099. I need a Hellboy, and he's cheap, but I don't like the 2019 version. 2099 I want to pair with a hypothetical Terry McGinnis Batman, and because he, 1610 & Raimi-Man were my childhood Spider-Men. But he costs too much for a pretty barebones figure, and I'm holding on in case they make a movie about him and he gets a headsculpt and whatever. I'm leaning towards Punisher for one reason. Punisher's now a poisoned property and I worry we'll not get a proper one within the decade. The Netflix one costs too much for a so-so look, but while the WM one is unique, it's got a great comic headsculpt and it's priced relatively reasonably.

Does anyone who have him care to say if he's worth the cash? Or anyone who has the 2099 fig care to weigh in?

From the previews, the throne looks like a hollow piece of plastic with some simple paint. Seems absolutely insane that it costs $150. I feel like the repros of hottoys heads are usually a far cry from the original quality, so my move is going to largely depend on if scalpers are going to price the unhelmeted head so that it makes less financial sense to just get the version with the throne than it does to buy the standard and a parted out head. The throne is just one solid piece with some paint. I feel like you could find a throne someone 3D printed and painted on etsy for $30, and even that is just the premium you pay for not knowing how to paint it yourself. Complete ripoff

Here's a pic of the throne. They didn't even try to make the cushion look fabric (or make it from fabric). From some of the pictures I thought it had a small diorama with the lance that sits behind the throne, but it is just the seat part, with some paint and light airbrushing. Not a very premium feeling deluxe release

Hottoys shot themselves in the foot with their King Boba release. It comes out next winter, Book of Boba Fett is gonna be out for a year at that point and there’s probably going to be another costume change people will prefer to this one. I’m a hardcore Fett fan, and the only way I’d accept this figure is if I was convinced BoBB wasn’t going to have it’s own release.

People think they just slapped this together to get it up for pre-order and that the final release will have smooth armor instead of this which is clearly a cheap retool. We’ll see

You could find a replacement strap and bolt it on like there or loop it on to how it used to go. Or replace it with a similar string that's tight enough to hold. Both would require the skill to do it which, is not much If you could manage it.

It's sitting fine on his head though right? So I couldn't worry about it until it's annoying to keep on. Practice the fix on something else first, then try try real thing when you get far enough

Picked up the super duck Tifa figure.

oh jesus, i'm not a fan of her at all. the face is alright but the hair is godawful and the clothing just looks unimaginably cheap. there is a Tifa around under "Fighting Fantasy Queen" who looks pretty boss, maybe go for that one next time if you have the budget (i would have done myself but it's not in the cards rn)

The head was a two part commission. One did a 3d model that I had professionally printed. Then I found a painter (who lived one town over) to paint it.

Pic related was the reference I gave to the face sculpt guy. I cant even remember the group I commissioned to do the harness. The parts I sent them got lost in the mail and I guess going to the post office in the Philippines is a nightmare. They did a great job but it was a nightmare on both ends apparently. It was originally made for a smaller Phicen body so it's a little tight on this new one.
