Prime Prime and Megatron might make a solid pair. Hopefully they both come with their regular accessories, but also the Star Saber and Dark Saber. And hopefully the damn molding and plastic is better by this point. These figures should be so simple but they've been coming out so badly.

Okay I just realized something
why is Kingdom Dinobot brown (with a hint of gray underbelly)? the original toy was pink with black stripes, the tv model was sort of tan with brown stripes. The initial test shots of Kingdom dinobot seem to be gray with brown stripes, but they really moved the stripes down to 'just the default color'
The only thing I can think of that they based this brown off of is the Universe toy, which was brown with.. some faint tan stripes only on the very top. what the dink?

Hot Rod's forward/backward shoulder joint doesn't help with much things, esp since it partly pops off the torso whenever you try to use it. But I've discovered it IS good for one thing. Whereas Arcee is cheap and semi-unposable sexist fapbait that's utterly failed as a transformer. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give her a 10.

Transformers Beast Wars Injector

One of /tfg/'s darlings. Just look at this goofy bugger. Non-show Fuzors tended to be a lot more odd than Silverbolt and Quickstrike.

A lionfish/hornet is definitely up there. A lionfish/anything would lead to some ridiculous combos.
I don't even know where the stinging part of a lionfish is.

Stand out features of this mode include; a giant fish head, ruby wings, and a very high inconsistence in whether ther rear legs are supposed to point straight back or to the side.

I'd have gotten him at TFcon but he was always too expensive. Thought he was a hated uggo that /tfg/ loved, so I was hoping to find him for cheap, but to no avail. Made him a crayon though, and someone else did too. Think my design was similar.

A goofy beast mode stands up to become a goofy robot mode.

Of course the only thing anyone can pay attention to is the face.
It's unlike most anything else in the franchise.

You can't help but be a bit impressed by the amount of toy the head takes up. It has to be 40% of this toy's mass, but also the paint work.
Clear red plastic with a blue wash and all the yellow dots picked out.
The green eyes both modes share contrast beautifully.

Some fun posability. 180 degree butterfly joints, that's rare.
Other than that some standard stuff, ball joint hips and shoulders, 90 degree bends at the elbows and knees, and swivels at the neck, waist and thighs.

It's easy to imagine Injector has the type of rage fueled midget on the battle field that will beat a man to death with his overly long arms.
Or the type to bite in a wrestling match.

I can't stop gushing about him at all. Not sure what his guns are nor remember them from the movie, I appreciate their vague symmetry but sort of wish they could combine, especially since I'm juggling Firedrive as well. His sunglasses/visor is really swell, and gives him a semi-Primey look of reliability and experience while still having that Roddy charm. No idea what colour he is, not sure where to keep the Matrix but wowie.

It sort of scares me trying to transform him back to robot mode though, it's hard to pry out his hand panels. And I'm banking on a Hot Rod/Rodimus comparison soon, since I'm really not sure whether the latter's something I should keep an eye out for. Hot Rod's absolutely perfect and I wish Rodimus was too. Similar body type, but the cab looks incorrect. Just wish there was a way to transition Hot Rod to Rodimus back and forth, changing their heads or faces. But that'd mean you can't change his size or colour, which'd get some people mad.

Getting Hot Rod has been the biggest/sole joy in quite a while. Hoping Grimlock gets cheaper so I can buy him (and Wheelie!) and hopefully have a similar experience from SS86 of another fave boy. Is anyone planning on getting Rodimus at all?

There are aspects of the Bay designs that work and many aspects that do not work. Some designs like Bumblebee's basic helmet shape have become iconic. The softness of the Bumblebee movie design is a massive iterative improvement.

He's fucking huge, as tall as the current SS86 Grimlock. he's also very simple in transformation and the articulation is "eh". Plus the dreaded flip-up "helmet" headmaster. So he's not atrocious but he's also definitely not good.

Nope. The first classics line was just about the last good step before hasbro cheaped out for Movie tfs becoz PeTroLeUm iS ToO ExpEnSiVe and overall qc fell to where it has been ever since.

Compare the first classics bee to any of the multiple reissues/repaints they made of that exact same mold, and up close they're awful. Slopped on paint, poor molding, bad pin fit, stress and cracks, etc.

Fanboys don't want to believe it but when you put a 2007 figure next to the exact same figure released in 2011 and it's visible worse, as a bootleg by comparison, that's some hard evidence. Not saying this is the best bee mold but 2007 it's a solid figure.

My Henkei Bee has finally developed a hairline crack in his thin front windshield part where it clips into his midsection. That part is all translucent plastic that's painted and I'm impressed that it took over a decade for any kind of damage to become visible. Overall I wouldn't say he's terribly fragile.

The problem with the CHUG line is also that accuracy began to take precedence over good toy design. In addition to having better materials, older releases also had much more streamlined engineering because toy designers weren't hell-bent on making a plastic effigy of a physics-bending cartoon, so they were also smarter about material tolerances and paint apps. It's a shame that we'll never get retail trainsformers with modern engineering techniques, but design philosophy and material quality from 15 years ago.

I would kill for a Nightbeat. But some of the more obscure characters from all across the franchise would be nice, especially Unicron Trilogy/Beast Wars. I liked Cheetor but there was just a new figure of him so it felt like a wasted slot

It's not, pause clips of it on youtube and you'll see it doesn't have the spikes, I'm fairly certain Canopy uses the same head design or a modified version of it (which the original in turn, seems to use a modified version of Long Hauls head)
