Core to Late Gen X was my childhood, but I had periodic exposure and access to Early X. I just rode that train up until things began filtering to Early Zoomer. Beyond that it's been next to no exposure minus a few one-off experiences here and there.

early + core millennial. i was into a lot of stuff in both of those sections. i was born a year after TMNT started but they reaired the cartoons a lot and the toy line continued until '94 and the old ones ended up in yard sales a lot. very flexible time period

also watched a good amount of late millennial stuff but that was definitely when i started to age out of cartoons and move onto stuff targeted at teens

My main western cartoon/toy exposure was Ninja Turtles, Dinoriders and Transformers.
But also jap stuff I didn't recognize as jap stuff yet like Captain Future, Sabre Rider, Queen Millennia and Ulysses 3000.None of which had toys available anywhere near me. Had to improvise and built the robots and space ships with Lego instead

Toybiz X-Men, Kenner Aliens, Jurassic Park, Power of the Force Star Wars, Mighty Max, Beast Wars, and Gundam. Though, my first ever gunpla was a 1/144 scale V-Gundam on my 8th birthday. Didn’t know a damn thing about Gundam but the kit was fun and the ‘endoskeleton’ feature was cool to kid me. Built my first MG at 10 and my only PG at 17.

You what's funny? I'm probably not that terribly different in age from the Japanese audience who watched those shows when they were kids. When I think about it, had DBZ, Yu Yu, ect come out in Japan and the west simultaneously I probably would have still watched and loved them as a young kid. Probably even more so because they would have been a part of my younger years. I was in my teens by the time those series came over to the west. DBZ got big in the US around 1999 a full decade after it started in Japan. I think Yu Yu was 2002 a full decade after it's 1992 debute. The early 2000's was a huge wave of major anime from the 80s and 90s which is probably why we had so much stuff coming out at the time. I don't even pay attention to the new stuff coming out now desu.

I was one of those kids who had a ton of Jurassic Park, Aliens Kenner stuff. If those anime had been out at the same time I would have went crazy for toys back then too. And of course we got the Japanese SBC and European AB figures released first back in the day before Irwin made any of their own figures.

Hard to say, my own experience was less than ideal for reasons I won't bore you with. Toy wise it was based though. I was mainly into Lego and Transformers as a kid, both of which were pretty sweet at the time. Though that said I am slightly mad Exo-Force completely took over my attention between 2005 and 2006, I missed out on most of Cybertron as a result.

Just off the top of my head I remember some of my favorites being a bunch of New Batman Adventures and Batman Beyond figures, tons of Legos, my favorite themes being Star Wars, Adventurers, and anything space, the Fisher Price Great Adventurss castle and pirate ship, some Power Rangers (which was weird since my mom didn't let me watch it because it was "too violent") and a bunch of Star Wars toys, mostly Power of the Force and Episode 1.

Thinking about it, most of my toys were core millenial, but I saw a lot of early millenial media.

I'm a hybrid of early/core millenial, I guess I played with toys more in the early millenial era and video games more in the core millenial era but i was a kid for both and i actually have more memories from core millenial since i was just too young in the early millenial era.

I guess if it's only about toys i'm more about early millenial but if i'm talking childhood i think early/core millenial need to be the same era since i was under 12 during both eras.

Late Gen X reporting in. This infographic is very accurate. I remember when I was in 8th grade which was 1994-1995, so I was 14 years old, I was really into X-Men comics and still enjoyed the cartoon, but wouldn't go around advertising it. There was another kid who was super into Power Rangers and talked about it to the other kids and I couldn't believe he liked it AND told other kids about it. I thought he was such a fag. His mom died of cancer that year and I remember this other kid named RJ made fun of him about it. He would tease him about something else and then say "awww are you going to cry because your mom died?"

Sure it isnt a real science here. But for example if something is at the border it means that it is released at that date. But swing in one direction, because it was popular befor or after that line.
Regarding yugioh, the cards were released in 99 and this was the most popular time through 2001. It was more filler by reaching that deep into 96-01 and it should cross the border. I might change that.
I am not into wrestling that much, so i might use a wrong pic here. So help is appreciated, if you have some better picture or series name, feel free to post it.
Ben 10 is the time it was released and popular. But sure it was long popular and can cross the border like micro machines too.

Have you seen the state of transformers? 25$ for a deluxe class, and its all paper thin panels if not a spring loaded auto morpher. He-man are 25$ to 30$ for a single character on a blister card. Hot wheels have even started reducing the amount of metal in existing molds to save a couple bucks. Lego has maintained quality of their bricks (exept for blue and brown for some reason), but their prices are sky high, and its all movie and videogame shit. Beyblade burst is a joke to anyone whose played with any previous generations. Nerf has gone to fuck, literally half of the current line breaks almost immediately under normal use and theyve removed the screws so you can't repair them yourself. And then there's the million and a half different blind bag toys that every brand and their knockoffs have been shitting out.

Now tell me, what one market am I focusing on? The entire industry has devolved into get rich quick scams, and children and toy collectors alike are the victims.

Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Diddy's Kong Quest, Super Mario All-Stars, A Link to the Past, Yoshi's Island, Secret of Mana, and Chrono Trigger

It's no doubt missing a game you love, but this was the list of games that I would send back to myself. I had other games in my collection, but these are the only ones I cared about.

Late Gen-X, my massive Barbie collection rivaled in size only by the Nonja Turtles collection I shared with my brother. Family also had a springer spaniel then who would occasionally chew toys, but the only ones she ever out and ate were Donatello. It happened like five times. Shit was uncanny.

I interpreted this image as a reflection of trends in the United States only. In the US Yugioh didn't start airing on TV until late 2001. The TCG wasn't released until 2002. It probably hit it's peak around 2002-2005, while the original Duel Monsters series was still airing and the TCG set releases reflected what was in the show. It was definitely a late millennial phenomenon, and not an early millennial one. I know because I was an early millennial who was obsessed with it, and I always felt too old for it and embarassed around other people my age who weren't into it (at least from 2003-onward). It was cool to be into it as a 9 year old. As a 10 year old it was getting iffy and I had to at least hide it from people who I didn't know were also into it. As an 11 year old, if people in your class knew you were into it, it was basically social suicide.
