While definitely influenced by Food Fighters (probably, considering Moose) this wasn't really a comeback.
Damn fun line though and I'm surprised it ended so apruptly. Also amazed at the aftermarket prices on some of them.
A Food Fighters line would be neat I think, but I just don't know if the popularity is there for Mattel or anyone else to make it.

I doubt Matel will ever touch this franchise ever again. More likely to return at the hands of Super7, although I wouldn't hold my breath for it either.
I regret not collecting these as a kid. In 1990 each figure cost a dollar.

As opposed to realistic depictions of food people? I don't like animated based figures myself, either, but when I think of that I think of stuff like the Batman animated line and all the bland figures based on cartoons since then. But when I think of Food Fighters or the classic tMNT line I think of really detailed, "gross-out" sculpts which I always thought was cool.

Mattel has a deep backlog of properties itching for revival. My guess is that they're putting alot of effort into MOTU atm because it's their most recognizable name. Should that fail, I could see them pushing for Street Sharks, Dino Riders, etc.
