I quite like them all, though I was hoping for Harley's actual costume. Maybe in a wave 2 with a Starro BAF? It's really too bad about the melee weapons instead of guns, but I assume that's coming from DC/WB/whatever else. Unless there's more we're not seeing. Maybe the unmasked versions will come with guns, or maybe DC figures are just done with guns.

McFarlane is currently producing 7" figures who almost all feature newly molded bodies with ~40 PoA with more paint and higher QC than Hasbro does for $20.
Just the fact that he makes unique molds for nearly every figure is above and beyond "more bang for your buck"

The fact that the Batman figures are as simplistic as the Avatar and My Hero figures but $10 more means there's something more going on there than just the one inch difference.

No, this one is a Gold Label release, so a repaint of the previous one with an unmasked head. No guns, 2 soulswords (one with a flamey effect on it) and a crowbar. They even removed the holsters. They seem to be going hard against guns, but I guess swords to stab or slash with or crowbars to bludgeon with are ok.

A recurring series would undoubtedly favor the company that paid up the fees, especially if it's a brand new license, because they want to have a steady stream of money
If first dibs isn't given to the current licensee, it's seen as distrust and is actually pretty insulting. No business would make a poisoned contract like that

Only a company that's in the doghouse, like Mattel with DC, would have EXTRA stipulations (because they already exist in almost every license) since there was a history of failed toylines and this would only happen after the previous license expired and renegotiations were done. Normal stipulations would be that if a toyline doesn't make X amount of money every quarter/year, that the toy company would pay the difference. So a big rich company like Mattel would take a hit on shit like that, in hopes that a future series actually takes off, but that doesn't actually go well for the licensor, because they may see it as damaging their brand. Hence some new clause being written into the contract.

The base is actually really cool, half dark tentacle monster for Dawnbreaker and a plane and other such things for Hal. Hal's using exactly Stewart's mold, but the colors actually make it look quite different.
